conceived naturally over age 36?

Hi.

OP back, bumping my own thread. I'm not pregnant yet. We are trying for our third and I'm feeling so discouraged. First two were conceived easily.

Anec-data appreciated to get me out of my bad mood. I'm going to the doctor next month, and I'm terrified of getting bad news.

Conceived naturally at 35, 37 (twice...first pregnancy was a miscarriage. Conceived again naturally the next month), and 40.

After TTC for a year with no success, we got tested when I was 34. I was so anxious about getting tested and the whole process of fertility treatments. The tests revealed I have significantly diminished ovarian reserve. I was devastated. I thought I would never be able to conceive. I kept reading stories online of people who tried fertility treatments for years with no success.

Then I got pregnant on my second IUI. Yes, there are no guarantees with fertility treatments. But when I started looking at fertility clinic data (e.g. SART), it turns out most people who get treatment do actually have babies. And fast forward to my prenatal yoga classes and mom's groups and nearly half of my fellow moms also got fertility treatments to conceive. It's really common to need treatment to conceive. Don't be scared of it. It's an annoying and anxiety-inducing process, but then it's done and more likely than not you'll get the baby you are yearning for.

I conceived easily at 32, 33 and 35 (1st was a miscarriage). We don't want more kids so have been on BC since after the second one, but anecdotally - I know TONS of people who have conceived naturally in their late 30s. I can think of half a dozen off the top of my head, including people who needed ART for earlier kids then got pregnant on their own.

OP "bad news" may not necessarily be bad if there are solutions available - they take you closer to your goal
I tried using OPKs at 41 for 3 months before getting tests done at the recommendation of my OB. one of the tests was an HSG that showed one tube was blocked. The technician doing the test mentioned that sometimes HSG clears the tubes (not the blocked one but the other) and many women conceive if they try that cycle. I brushed that away focusing more on the "bad news" that one tube was blocked but did try that cycle anyway and lo and behold had indeed conceived when i went back to the doctor to review all the test results.

Yes, 36. Conceived first time we tried.

33 - 1st month trying
35 - 1st month trying (36 at delivery)
38 (almost 39) - second month trying, but ended in miscarriage at 12 weeks. We took a break for a few months. Once we started again, it took about 6 months to get pregnant with DD. I was 40 when I delivered her.

With the exception of my miscarriage obviously, I had easy pregnancies and healthy babies.

Didn't read the whole thread.

First pregnancy at 36, ended in m/c.
Second pregnancy at 36, healthy baby at 37.
No IVF or other interventions.

1st pregnancy conceived naturally first time trying at 37; delivered 38.

I did it 4 times. Twice successfully at 38 and 41. 2 early losses in between.

Note that after the second MC I consulted with a RE, who advised based on egg count & hormone levels I was not a good candidate for IVF. Got pregnant again 2 cycles later and that sweet baby is keeping me up nights now.

Forgot - healthy pregnancies and healthy babies. I was exponentially more tired with #2, but not sure that was age related.

It took 2 years of infertility treatments to conceive DC#1, who was born when I was 37. Started trying for #2 when DC was 18 months...nothing but failed cycles, failed transfers, and one miscarriage for 2 years. Figured we were OAD. Surprise pregnancy with DC#2 at 41.

I’m 36 and I’m pregnant.

We were using condoms. There was one night that we were drinking and we forgot. ONE night! ONE single night that we risked it. Apparently, that’s all it takes because I missed my period and there’s a positive pregnancy test in my bathroom.

Had my two kids at 36 and 38. The first took time to conceive because prior to that I'd been on hormonal birth control for over a decade and it took ages for my cycle to resume. The second one was conceived on the second cycle of not preventing. Easy pregnancies and deliveries.
