conceived naturally over age 36?

Is this extremely rare? The internet will say there is an 18% chance. That can't be right...is it? I can't ask my peers at the playground: "did you do IVF?" So, I'll ask here. Over 36, did you conceive naturally? After how many months?

CONGRATS to all!

I did twice at 36 - first pregnancy was a miscarriage and then I got pregnant again 3 months later. Good luck to you!

Most women 36-40 are not using IVF to get pregnant

I just did at 38. Second baby. Total surprise.

My first was born when I was 36, after 6 years of trying. I didn't go the fertility treatment root. My second was conceived when I was 37 after one month of trying.

OP- is the stat 18% during your fertile time? That’s different than 18% overall

I’m not sure. I know all babies are miracles, right? But it seems like a baby over 36 is a bigger miracle if there is only an 18% chance, but that can’t be right given the ancedata. Don’t tell my baby he’s not a miracle. LOL.

+1. Still very, VERY possible to get pregnant on your own at 36. Wouldn’t put it off too much longer past 36, but if you’re charting your cycles and everything looks good, there’s no reason to think you wouldn’t be able to get pregnant on your own.

"82 percent of women ages 35 to 39 conceived within a year of having sex at least twice a week, not much lower than the 86 percent of women ages 27 to 34 under the same conditions."

Whoa. So I guess my stats were slightly outdated. If they were indeed from 1670!

Conceived at 40, first time/cycle ever not using protection. Delivered healthy DD at 41. Amazing and uncomplicated pregnancy.

Conceived first month trying at 37, ended in miscarriage. Waited 1 full cycle after miscarriage, and then conceived first cycle trying, still 37.

First baby conceived at 35, 2nd at 37 and 3rd at 39...actually had one miscarriage at 33, then three healthy babies after. All conceived naturally.
