conceived naturally over age 36?

There are some other threads on this you can turn to for more responses as there is so much variation. In my case, pregnant at 39 (2 months trying) and two pregnancies back to back at 42 (1 month trying) but unfortunately miscarriages.

Baby at 37 (1 month trying)
Currently pregnant at 39 (1 month trying)

CONGRATS to all!

Oh, BS. Just go up to Bethesda to see all the grey-haired moms! Had my first at 39 after trying just a few months - we wanted to enjoy marriage alone for a few years after a quick courtship. 2nd at 44 - there were 2 miscarriages and a medical termination in between.

agree.. I got pregnant within a few months of trying at 33 and 36. Two of my friends also got pregnant within a few months after 33. One was almost 40. That one was an oops baby, actually.

I did at 36 and 39, both surprises after long periods of trying unsuccessfully.

Is the OP someone who is trying to scare women into not focusing on their careers in their 20's/early 30s and instead have babies early because your chances go down?

I have a feeling that’s 18% chance per cycle. Not 18% ever without intervention.

That sounds close to what our RE told us 15 years ago.

Conceived naturally at 40 and 42. First pregnancy about six months after getting IUD out - we weren't actively trying, just stopped preventing. Uncomplicated pregnancy and healthy, awesome kid. Second pregnancy about 5 months after my period started back postpartum, still not actively trying, and having way less sex on account of parenting. 29 weeks now, another uncomplicated pregnancy and all indications are good for the baby.

I have a lot of sympathy for all the people who struggle with infertility, but I wish the commonly held beliefs werent so gloom and doom!

Conceived within 1-2 months of trying at 36 and 38 (also at 34). Uncomplicated pregnancies and healthy babies.

Conceived naturally at 41, second month trying. Easy pregnancy/healthy child.

I did not wait because of a career. I just happened to not meet her father until I was 38.

Fertility issues can happen at any age. I think the percentages you find online and the ones credited on this board are not necessarily accurate to the population. My doctor didn’t think it was shocking that we got pregnant so easily. Natural pregnancies over 36 (or older) are not unicorns.

Conceived at 37, despite pcos and needing meds to conceive older children

I see them, but I can’t ask if their pregnancy is ART or natural.

Hahahha no, I’m just curious. There is a lot of talk on the TTC board, which i still follow, about conceiving over 35.

I had 2 pregnancies at 36 - one from my second round of IUI that ended in m/c (after 3 years of unexplained secondary infertility) and the second resulted in our happy surprise daughter #2 without assistance. We thought we couldn’t conceive again without assistance since we had tried on our own for 3 years and nothing.

Delivered #2 after turning 37. Our first was 8.5 when her sister arrived.
