Are friends who don't text me back really even my friends?

I feel sorry for some of you. You’re letting self-absorbed narcissists and pathological liars walk all over you. Have some self respect. Is nostalgia clouding your judgment or are you that hard up for a “friend”? It’s sad.

I don’t get why people don’t bother to reply. A simple text with ‘I am really busy/I feel sick/I want some time alone/my kids are driving me nuts at the moment etc’ would go a long way.

If you don't like it...dial the texting object in your hand....move your mouth instead of your fingers. Problem solved.

Sometimes I'll get a text from someone who I haven't spoke with in a very long time. It's a "catching up" type of text. I'll answer their questions and then text back, but then after a few texts, I inadvertently let the conversation fade. If I'm going to have a long chat with someone, I really don't think that texting is the way to do it. It's not that I don't want to catch up, but going back and texting a few sentences over a few days usually results in the chat fading away not with any ill-intention on my part.

I have a friend like this and frankly I don’t consider her a friend anymore. She responds to emails months later or most of the time never. She says she’s busy with the baby but her daughter is almost 2 years old. She’s also a sahm with plenty of free time. Some people are shitty OP. Invest in friendships that are not one sided. Have some respect for yourself. Everyone is constantly glued to their phone but can’t be bothered to return a text message. It’s a bunch of bs.

Same. I also don't enjoy the fact that I am so easily accessible to everyone, and that most people feel like I am obliged to answer every random DM/text/email that they send... there's way too much of it.
