NP. After being slut-shamed, IMO the gloves are off and the dancer cannsay whatever she wants about the rude a-hole who started it. And I agree with the poster who said feminism supports a woman’s choice to do this if she wants to. If someone does this and they enjoy it and are successful, more power to them. I’m not jealous and it’s just another job to me. |
I can’t believe how many women don’t understand men at all. —woman |
Former dancer here and I am confused. There are women all over this board that say mean things about other women (exhibit A, any thread about working moms or stay at home moms), but I am a terrible person for relating my actual life experience? I find it confusing that some of you have such a hard time imagining that a middle aged woman who is maybe not looking/feeling so great anymore might get jealous about her dh at the strip club, get drunk, and act crazy. Think about how weird some women act about having an attractive young nanny or babysitter. Can you really all not imagine this scenario playing out as I'm describing? I'm not judging these women based on their looks, I'm judging them on their rude and shitty actions, which, in my opinion, are rooted in insecurity. |
Hahaha right! Also, bodily fluids? I would say most strip club surface are more likely to be lightly scented with beer and whatever body spray is popular with young women at that time. Back in my day, it was Warm Vanilla Sugar and Lovespell. Calm down PP. |
Yeah because all men like to "experience' women after a whole line of other dudes... |
Yeah right. Take a black light in there and it will tell a different story. Yuck |
No, what you're doing is viciously furthering sexist/ageist stereotypes because these particular women made YOU feel disapproval. |
You’re talking about sex. I’m taking about dancing. |
Sounds like she hit a nerve with you. Nothing she said was even close to being as offensive as the original degrading comment about strippers. |
*1 |
Exactly. She gets called a troubled slut and defends herself politely and appropriately. What’s up with the deranged woman calling people sluts? |
I've met plenty of men who don't enjoy strip clubs. |
So it's ok to call older women "frumps" with "loser husbands" if you feel insulted?? I don't think saying that many/most sex workers have troubling circumstances, or that sex work is likely a degrading or psychologically harmful profession for most, is "slut shaming" either. |
| I don't equate exotic dancing with sex work and I think it is dangerous to confound the two. |
This. |
