How is this news? Don't all the royals have their own "offices"? They all have different causes and different schedules. Andrew and Edward don't share a personal secretary. There is no main phone number to call then press 1 for Anne or 2 for Sophie. William and Harry are on different trajectories. William will be king with a child who will be king. Harry won't. Harry already does his own thing with Invictus and Sentebale. Its administrative more than anything and the word "court" is being used rather than use the word "office". The article even says:

First of all, referring to it as “separate courts” is so f-cking fancy and elite. I mean we’re talking about offices or departments. Few, however, can get away with calling it “separate courts”. The division, at this point, makes sense. William will be king. And his son will be king. He’s a team of five now. As his children get older, they’ll have their own considerations. As for Harry and Meghan, from the very beginning, they’ve spoken of their partnership, of the work they’re looking forward to doing together, which we’ve seen over the last few weeks on this tour. As The Times’s source explained, “[William and Harry] have become different people with different outlooks on life”. One office, or “court”, handling both these households, with their own individual and unique brands, probably won’t be realistic for too much longer.

Agreed. I also think the announcement of where H+M's 'court' will be based will be interesting. I think they'll be moving into some rather grand accommodations very soon. The courts were always going to be separate as Charles becomes King. Each Prince will be taking on heavy tasks for their father during his reign so it makes sense. I think it was just speeded up by a year or two because Meghan didn't need training wheels for a couple of years and only took weeks to find her way. Add kids and bamm - court is here in 2019 instead of 2021.

Exactly. Megan is the reason for this division. They could have had a unified presence but she must be driving them to be separate so she can continue to show up Kate

If you mean she's doing her job as a Duchess while growing a future Royal inside of her when you say 'show up Kate'...yeah, she's showing up Kate. W+K are lovely people but the only part-time senior Royals in the Windsor-Mountbatten household. The entire family shows them up.

Must be Megan’s doing. She is driving the brothers part.

Yes, because William and Harry would still be sharing bunkbeds had it not been for Megan. Forget that one had a wife and 3 children before the other even got married because we all know that marriage and children changes absolutely nothing between siblings.

I don't think Harry and Meg will last. I mean she's pure Hollywood. Knows exactly how to act for the cameras. She's divorced once, it'll happen again in no time.

I hope you're not the same person who thought the wedding wouldn't happen or they wouldn't have kids or he'd never propose...the track record of betting against them is going pretty badly. I'd be more worried about the Prince spotted out in nightclubs.

It wouldn't matter who Harry marries. There is only one monarch. That person, like all of the other royals, don't share offices and staff with their siblings. The queen doesn't. Charles doesn't. William won't either. They aren't the same two little boys walking behind their mother's casket. They are grown ups on two very different paths.

So the royal family doesn't act for the cameras? They are all smiles and waves 24/7? Woud you rather have someone who is engaging or someone who is agoraphobic, has anxiety, frowns, pouts, or hates public speaking. Good PR is a big deal to the royal family. Frankly, someone who has public speaking abilities, is accustomed to cameras, working a crowd and can put on a smile their face when needed is exactly the kind of person cut out for the job.

It's good for Harry and Meghan to have their own PR people so they are not beholden to William and they can go their own way. I'm predicting that it won't be great for William and Kate though, unless they really step up their work ethic.

Harry and Meghan are/will quickly make them look bad in comparison.

You don't know how celebrity works do you?

The monarchy has no political power anymore. Their only "power" is social. They depend on the goodwill of the people to keep it going. If William and Kate continue down their path of petulant reluctance and Harry and Meghan continue down their path of hard work and charm, what do you think will happen?

What do we think will happen?

Duh.

Will eventually becomes king and Kate queen. They will remain respected, popular and beloved.

Harry and Meghan will be in the limelight for the next couple of years. Then they will start to fad and be replaced by the younger royals as Savannah becomes the next it girl and tabloid favorite, followed by Will's kids. Harry's kid will be covered in the way that Eugenia and Beatrice are, but for fashion wins, not fashion fails.

Then eventually as they become young adults, all the focus will be on George and his siblings.

They'll abolish the monarchy and their ridiculous existence will cease to exist. They'd had to get real jobs or live like normal people. The horror!

There's a new biography coming out about Prince Charles which describes William as moody, demanding, and "grand" (English for stuck up and superior). He has a temper and occasionally pitches fits. He and Charles only get along some of the time apparently.

Harry is also prone to volatility but is much warmer and wears his heart on his sleeve. He told his people "what Meghan wants, Meghan gets."

More info about Charles and Meghan:

It IS Meghan’s own relationship with Charles that is proving to be key to newfound warmth between him and his second son.

‘When Meghan met the Prince of Wales, she was bowled over by his gentlemanly charm,’ said an inside source.

‘She told Prince Harry he was wonderful; welcoming, warm, hard-working, kind and stable. She made it clear that he should appreciate him and bond more.’ She consulted him about the music for the wedding, while Charles has taken time to discuss with her the intricacies of life in the ‘Firm’.

It helps that Meghan is fascinated by British history, and royal history in particular — far more so than her husband. Sources say she has been poring over lever arch files of notes about the Commonwealth. Whenever she’s confused, she always turns to Charles, and he takes time to explain the complexities.

He sees his work ethic and his passion for philanthropy reflected in his new daughter-in-law, who has campaigned in the past to raise awareness of women’s issues. Nor will it have escaped his notice that she shares Charles’s belief in the importance of organic food.

Camilla, meanwhile, has played her part as a sort of ‘super-granny’, dispensing humorous, down-to-earth advice to Meghan. It is understood the two ‘outsiders’ have become close in a short space of time, and they were seen clasping hands as they greeted one another at the Palace.

As for Prince Charles, he has been utterly charmed by the beautiful actress.

‘She is so intelligent and so nice,’ he has been telling friends. ‘She makes Harry happy. We could not like her more.’
