https://www.laineygossip.com/prince-harry-prince-william-reportedly-considering-creation-of-separate-courts/51178 Very interesting
How is this news? Don't all the royals have their own "offices"? They all have different causes and different schedules. Andrew and Edward don't share a personal secretary. There is no main phone number to call then press 1 for Anne or 2 for Sophie. William and Harry are on different trajectories. William will be king with a child who will be king. Harry won't. Harry already does his own thing with Invictus and Sentebale. Its administrative more than anything and the word "court" is being used rather than use the word "office". The article even says: First of all, referring to it as “separate courts” is so f-cking fancy and elite. I mean we’re talking about offices or departments. Few, however, can get away with calling it “separate courts”. The division, at this point, makes sense. William will be king. And his son will be king. He’s a team of five now. As his children get older, they’ll have their own considerations. As for Harry and Meghan, from the very beginning, they’ve spoken of their partnership, of the work they’re looking forward to doing together, which we’ve seen over the last few weeks on this tour. As The Times’s source explained, “[William and Harry] have become different people with different outlooks on life”. One office, or “court”, handling both these households, with their own individual and unique brands, probably won’t be realistic for too much longer.
Agreed. I also think the announcement of where H+M's 'court' will be based will be interesting. I think they'll be moving into some rather grand accommodations very soon. The courts were always going to be separate as Charles becomes King. Each Prince will be taking on heavy tasks for their father during his reign so it makes sense. I think it was just speeded up by a year or two because Meghan didn't need training wheels for a couple of years and only took weeks to find her way. Add kids and bamm - court is here in 2019 instead of 2021.
Exactly. Megan is the reason for this division. They could have had a unified presence but she must be driving them to be separate so she can continue to show up Kate
It wouldn't matter who Harry marries. There is only one monarch. That person, like all of the other royals, don't share offices and staff with their siblings. The queen doesn't. Charles doesn't. William won't either. They aren't the same two little boys walking behind their mother's casket. They are grown ups on two very different paths.
You don't know how celebrity works do you? The monarchy has no political power anymore. Their only "power" is social. They depend on the goodwill of the people to keep it going. If William and Kate continue down their path of petulant reluctance and Harry and Meghan continue down their path of hard work and charm, what do you think will happen?
What do we think will happen? Duh. Will eventually becomes king and Kate queen. They will remain respected, popular and beloved. Harry and Meghan will be in the limelight for the next couple of years. Then they will start to fad and be replaced by the younger royals as Savannah becomes the next it girl and tabloid favorite, followed by Will's kids. Harry's kid will be covered in the way that Eugenia and Beatrice are, but for fashion wins, not fashion fails. Then eventually as they become young adults, all the focus will be on George and his siblings.
