Villanova vs. UVA

USNWR is crap. It has clear bias to many schools on that list. Both UVA and Villanova are good schools. There are some schools on that top 50 list that should not be there. The reason college costs have probably gone up can be contributed to USNWR.

My DS applied to both of these schools, along with a couple of top 20 schools. That said, between UVA and Villanova, he would choose Villanova. It's about fit and culture, and he happens to enjoy the culture at a school like Villanova. However, he did like UVA, just not enough for it to be at the top of his list. It was more a curiosity as to whether he would be accepted as an out of state student.

Villanova is more prestigious, unless your kid has a STRONG in at a top tier UVA frat/srat house.

Villanova wasn't even considered a national university until two years ago. But ok.

And by that measure, the University of Montana is tied with Columbia and better than Georgetown, Vanderbilt, and Berkeley.

UVA supporters use the Trump playbook. They put down all opponents whether merited or not.

Not a burn at all. Simply a reflection of the Rhodes process, and only makes UVA’s success all the more impressive considering its East Coast location.

PP keeps avoidig the facts.

Someone might mistake your Villanova V for a UVA V. Then you’ll come back to reality and a second tier suburban school.
