Yeah, that's what I figured. Mothers can commit familicide too.

Control. This is not about money. It is in a way that says "all of our money is mine and you are nothing and deserve nothing." Control of the money. Control of the woman, the children. When they lose control or get embarassed (also a loss of control), they snap. I believe him when he says he couldn't stand to face the empty house. He had no one left to control. And he has lost all control of his life.

I am a pp who believes she is facing a similar situation, but got out.

My husband wanted to have baby #3 when things were rocky between us. He thought it would be something to bond over, to bring us closer. Like we just needed a "project" to focus on together. I refused. We had a 10yo and 7yo at the time, so I saw it as resetting the clock from -11 years to -18 years.

I just can't imagine why someone would do this. Why not leave and disappear yourself if you don't want that life anymore? Now they are dead and he's in jail and for what? Why?

And do what exactly?

She's have his bank accounts and cards frozen. He'd be reported missing so any activity on his driver's liscense and passport would be flagged.

He didn't have any money, so its not like he could pop up on the French Riviera anyway.

If he did disappear for a year and she found out he was alive - judges would immediately start garnishing his paycheck for support.

90% certain of 20 years of misery and payments. 10% hope of getting away with murder.

Also I mean...it sounds like he snapped.

10%? In a high-profile case like that? More like 0.5%, if you are really lucky!

I must watch too many Investigation Discovery episodes, but it seems like, these days, it is so, so much harder to get away with murder, even if you plan it carefully and in cold blood! There are cameras everywhere, plus ubiquitous smartphones that can be easily traced (in one of the recent episodes the killer was found by simply tracing his phone movement; he was 'smart' enough to take his phone with him to the killing). Anyway, if one does plan a triple murder of their family, they'd better be sure they think everything through.

This doesn't seem to be the case here. I think something triggered that guy.

Maybe that was when they were still trying to work things out and before his alleged affair.

She was 15 weeks pregnant, so that’s a long time to adjust.

Who the hell said he had an affair?

For that matter - why were people up thread saying she had an affair?

Newsflash, maybe he just didn't like her. Or she didn't like him. In either case, he killed four people that night.

And he just didn’t like his own DDs either?

C’mon. We all know this is extremely abnormal behavior.

You don’t kill someone (or act like anything other than a grown arse adult, for that matter!) if you “don’t like someone”, PP. You sound like a GD two year old.

He had the kids all weekend and was probably seething at her "fun" (to him) work trip. She came home late am via coworker. He may have already killed the DDs in some crazed rage than got her when she came home.

Doesn't sound like he had much money but he could drain his bank accounts of whatever money he had, get a cash advance on his credit cards and go to Mexico or wherever else. He could have found some poor chump of a woman to take him in even if he stayed in the states. The ride it out.

He wouldn't be the first loser man to do that.

The credit lines were already maxed out. That's why he filed for bankruptcy in 2015. And sure - moving into some woman's trailer sounds lovely.

Yes, we know. Every thread you remind us that women are just as evil as men.

They filed chapter 7 BK a few years ago. That was discharged within months and rid them of ALL debts. They got a clean slate, except for crappy credit, of course.

You can only file chapter 7 every 8 years. I suspect they were debt ridden again and filing again wasn’t possible.

Apparently she was making more, he made 60k and she was a member of the 80k club. Their mortgage was 300k, 2 new vehicles- you do the math. If their homeowners association was suing them for $1500 they didn’t have $1500.

Or Family Annihilator. Women do sometimes kill their children but they rarely kill the father. Meanwhile the leading cause of death for pregnant women is the baby's father.

Not abnormal enough apparently.
