I don't know. One article I read mentioned that her neighbor/friend (who is actually the wife of the couple who let him stay with them after his wife & daughters went missing; they've now spoken out to apologize for defending him) said that she (Shannan, that is) had confided last week that she suspected her husband of infidelity. But has then elaborated something like "but he has no game so I don't know..."

[b]Another theory I wonder about is that maybe he snapped and did something to one or both of the girls while she was away on her trip and he was (presumably) watching them. After killing one kid, there's not much you can do to "go back"...

Re people hating on her for being part of a MLM, stop. This is no time to victim shame. However, I do think it's potentially pertinent in that some articles seem to be latching onto the fact that they had filed for bankruptcy several years ago, but that the family's financial state "seems to have taken a turn" lately based on all the traveling the family had done, often paid for fully by Shannan's company. Anyone who knows anything about MLMs knows that is utter bullshit.[\b] It's also relevant in that (to me) it essentially means everything in her social media posts should be taken with a grain of salt, because she was likely especially prone i playing up and exaggerating the positives

Agreed on the child. And so wait - you think she was charging all those things on a credit card? If so, and he found out, that would be more than enough for a 2AM arconfrontation.

I have no skin in the NLM game, but I hope this thread doesn’t devolve into trashing the mom victim who was probably just trying to help financially.

I was very creeped out by her FB post that seemed to indicate he talked her into baby #3. If he was that stressed by their finances, why add to it?

This was her justifying the pregnancy.

The 2 am confrontation probably happened when she arrived home and realized that one or both kids were gone.

Too many women lie about their lives on Facebook and even with their friends.

She should have gotten some help. Instead its this - "“I just don’t understand it,” said Bell (friend of Shanann Watts), who described Christopher Watts as a loving father."

I think that could be so...especially because the papers describe the mother and childrens bodies as separately buried. The mother was near them but not with them.

I wonder when was the last time those children were seen well and alive.

I feel sorry for her. Doesn't look like her miserable sack of shit husband was doing ANYTHING in her life. Yeah, I think something might have happened with the kids before she got home. I also wonder if she got home at 2AM, saw the house was a complete mess after doing all the work listed below and flipped out... Then he took it physically, one or both of the kids got in the way, and after that he couldn't leave any witnesses.

-Went to bed at 2am, up at 5:15am
-2 loads of laundry
-dusted whole house
-cleaned out fridge and pantry and restocked
-2 grocery stores with kids ??
-Celeste Doctor appointment ????
-emptied 7 suitcases/3 backpacks and put away
-fed kids a million times
-we all showered (we know this is a win)
-went through 6 weeks of mail ?
-washed kitchen floor
-cleaned up kids disaster
-repacked my suitcase for Arizona this Friday

They literally said, “we’re going to bed!” And put themselves to bed! Rain machines on and all. They are obviously exhausted from traveling and playing. I’m over here knocking everything out and it’s only noon! The old me would live out of a suit case for 1-2 weeks till it was empty again.

All while 4 months preggo! Love my Thrive Experience! - Shanann

Do we know how he killed them?

I’m thinking her friend knew their marriage had issues. I don’t think any of my friends would be alarmed if I didn’t respond for a few hours and missed a doctor appointment.

Maybe she was just an exceptionally good friend. Someone mentioned that her family took in the murderous husband after the wife and kids disappeared. Doubt that she would have done it if she suspected him of anything. But I agree, my friends wouldn't be alarmed either, I think. Dropped her off at 2 am and was alarmed by lunch the next day and took action. A really good friend.

I think your work colleagues would be alarmed though - as would your supervisor.

This was her friend and her work 'wife'. This is the woman who dropped her off at 2AM and knew they were supposed to meet at 8AM for work plans. In addition to knowing as a friend that Shanann wouldn't have missed her pre-natal appointment that same day.

Because boys are raised to be men who believe that women are their possessions.

That wasn't the same friend of Shanann's. That was the next-door neighbor (friend of the husband) and its creepy as hell that they lived with a triple-murderer for 2 nights.

No, he stayed with different friends. The one who reported her missing has remained unnamed. Nicholas and Amanda Thayer are the ones he stayed with.

Nobody just snaps and kills their kids or wife. There is always a history of escalating threats, violence, and abuse. Gavin de Becker's Mosaic website is a great tool to determine if you or someone you know could be in danger:
