Money problems.

Not simply money problems, she was heavily involved in one MLM scam after another.
She'd been involved in 4 or 5 money losing MLM scams throughout their marriage... so much so that they had to file for bankruptcy and sell the house due to her losses.

Let me make myself clear... this definitely is NOT a justification for the murders, as he could have simply divorced Shannan and not resorted to murdering her and those 2 precious, innocent babies... he is definitely a total psychopath.

I read through all of the court documents though and the resentment and anger was real with him -- he absolutely HATED in her in the end.

Even though the majority of people who work for a MLM company end up losing money in the end, it appears that she was one of the fortunate ones.

Her tax records state that one yr, she made $60,000.
She was an excellent salesperson.
Chris told an interviewer that she had the ability to sell the shirt off someone’s back.

Plus she had her car lease fully paid for every month and she + her husband got to travel, cost-free on many lifestyle getaways.

You have read all of the court documents...??!
Yet no one has called you out for being obsessed??

Just kidding PP.

I think someone who was obsessed with this case would be consistently posting YouTube videos, flying to CO to see the house where the victims lived at as well as perhaps even writing ✍🏼 Chris at Dodge Correctional, etc.

That IS the definition of someone truly obsessed with this case.
Not someone who knows the victim’s middle names.

Some posters on here just throw various terms around on here without understanding the full context of those terms.

I see the word obsessed on here often.

I read all of the court docs too and I never got the sense that it was the money, it was all that bitch Nicole the mistress.

She was eyeballs deep in debt. Hence the bankruptcies. Those trips weren’t free. She dumped their money in the MLM to get the trips. In pyramid schemes don’t pay off.

I mean, there are probably whole forums of people who've read the court documents (Web Sleuths, anyone...?) - I haven't, but seeing them mentioned makes me very curious. To the PP who said it seemed more like the girlfriend than the money, can you say more? I'm interested but not going to look up the court documents.

I'm the PP who read the documents and I get what you're saying. I'm actually an attorney and I was, like all of you, horrifically invested by this case.

For the PP who mentioned Shannon's tax returns & her business being in the black, I assure you... she was not and never was.

Of course Chris is going to say things like that, they had to keep up that whole perfect family image.

Her "businesses" were a huge point of contention for him for many, many years & a lot of the divorce talk was based around her so called "businesses".

In the court documents, he stated that her businesses never made money and her losses were much more than she ever gained -- also, that she paid money out of their actual bank account to get that car... that's how important the "image" was for her.

There are pages and pages of supporting documents to back up Chris' statements and I assure you, she was not making money.

If you go to one of the MLM groups on Reddit, they have the court documents too and the important pages to focus on, as there are over 100 of them.

The videos of her and her "friends" preaching about how great her MLM's are were just so bad and it was hard to watch.

^^ PP here, what I meant was the MLM bashing group on Reddit has the documents and they tell you the exact pages to focus on, so you don't have to waste time looking through inconsequential & immaterial documents.

Damn, I meant to write one THOUSAND documents, not one hundred.

I've gotta get some sleep, lol.

Here's a good rundown of those documents.

Ok pp again (last post, I promise!).

The link I just posted above actually has the almost 2000 pages of documents in their article that you can scroll through so you WON'T have to download the documents themselves.
It's really an invaluable tool if you want to scan through the docs without logging down your device.

All text messages/emails between Chris & Shannon and Shannon and her friends included.

^^Yes, I prefer the term “invested” over obsessed.

Just because I know the victim’s middle names, someone accused me of being obsessed, needing professional help, etc.
It really is harsh what some people say on here.

I couldn’t help becoming invested in this outrageous crime.
After all, it is very rare that you hear about a Husband and Father annihilating his entire family & disposing of their bodies in such a heinous manner.
Even his sentencing judge commented that in seventeen yrs, this was the worst case he had ever seen.

You do come across as obsessed and messed up.

You come across as very bored and someone who just likes to be mean.
