Healthy foods that suck

Chia seeds. I tried adding them to overnight oats - awful! I could feel each seed in my mouth, a gelatinous blob with a crunchy center. Like fish eggs in my oatmeal. I like fish eggs, but prefer them in sushi or on a bagel with cream cheese - not in my oatmeal!

Give me a danged Baked Potato, please.

I have to put pepper on mine. The best part of the sweet potato is the skin.

Carob. It tastes like all of your life's disappointments concentrated down into one mouthful.

Damn PP! That's practically poetry!
(BTW, I totally agree.)

(Also agree with the PP equating the taste of beets = dirt. Though my equation would be beets = dirt + artificial sweetener...)

I don't like quinoa but sautéed kale with caramelized onions and spices is delicious!
A green smoothie can be very yummy if you mix the right ingredients: take 3 cups of spinach, add water, a banana and 1teaspoon of your favorite nut butter=yum.

Anonymous wrote:All you yogurt haters need to try Yoplait Greek 100 protein. 14-15g protein, 6-7 g of sugar (that's at least half other brands if not more) no sour tanginess and so thick and delicious. Had the vanilla last night with local strawberries and it was downright decadent.

Or just eat full fat sour cream?

NP, but why would you want to do this? Sour cream and yogurt have very different tastes? Or are you being snarky?

A little bit snarky... but mostly bcs US yogurt companies have took something nice and destroyed it. This post might have been influenced by my weekend shopping it Wegmans where I failed to find any yogurt with even remotely small amount of sugar. Even plain Greek yogurt had the same amount of sugar as Yoplait Whips. Here I was trying to get my teen DS yogurt he likes and it had more sugar than ice cream. Probably, because in my country, yogurt is very different than yogurt here, yogurt is almost liquid, and all yogurts here are more like sour cream in consistency but not in taste. Real, plain yogurt is awesome, I have no idea how to explain it, maybe think of Kefir, but a bit thicker to get the picture of what I called yogurt when growing up?

Not snarky, just accurate. I DETEST fruit yogurt because it's soooo sweet (even the stuff made for children, which boggles my mind). I only ever eat plain yogurt, and the only brand I like is the Trader Joes organic "european style" yogurt, full fat. It's thin and a little more sour than other kinds, I love it. Maybe give it a shot and see if you like it.

Tea. All tea. But especially green tea.
The only way I like tea is to make it unhealthy.

I'm glad I read your post because I thought something was wrong with my nature's promise, plain full fat yogurt because it has a sour taste and a little lumpy. Sounds like that's how it should be. I usually buy the plain nonfat greek.

Make sure 100% of stems are removed, then massage the kale with olive oil and salt. Squeeze it like play dough for a couple minutes, then try it. You'll feel less like a cow working its cud this way...

Hmmm? Massage the kale? Are you on the wrong thread? This sounds all too wrong and funny at the same time!

I get my kids to massage the kale!

Um, are you not aware that lactose, which is found in dairy is a natural sugar? No where on planet earth (even in your country) will you find a single bit if yogurt without sugar. Your home country does not have magic sugar free milk. Buy plain yogurt, look at the ingredients amd if it diesnt have added sugar, then all sugar contained is from thr milk.

Learn what the labels mean. I make my own yogurt and viscosity has to do with how much the yogurt is strained and the tartness has to do with how long it's left to sit and the type of cultures used.
