What to do about DD who won't get up for school?

Tell her if she's late, you are going to go in with her and shadow her at school all day, sit next to her at lunch, go from class to class. She might be mortified enough to get up on her own. Just be ready to do it.

Today would not leave the house until 8:56 when I finally took her backpack and threw it into the hallway outside our apartment, with her keys. Then the second she stepped outside I slammed the door shut. I had woken her at 7:20.

When I go in every ten minutes she says "I'm up, I'm up." But then futzes around her room. Please do not say to take everything out of her room - we have a one bedroom apartment and there's nowhere else to put all her things. On Tuesday I couldn't get her up and she didn't go to school at all. Her first period is her favorite class with her favorite teacher. She's happy once she's AT school. Help.

NP here and I haven't read all the replies. Want to say, get a Philips Wake-Up Light. It completely changed my DDs behavior. Best investment ever! We ended up getting one for every member of the family. Even if there is something more going on with your DC, this can do nothing but help.
