Blazer + Tee + Jeans

Those who have posted pics NOT with a plain white tee are missing the mark. The ones with a silk cami and a pussybow blouse are totally different, far more modern and current looks. The style factor is instantly upped. And, even more so in contrast, the ones WITH the white tee are bland and uninteresting looks, regardless of who wore it and where.

To me, this is what moms wear to try to look cool at school events. It just looks like an older lady trying to be hip kind of thing. Like someone in A LancĂ´me ad.

I guess this all falls under the Tim Gunn approach to style: Chacun a son gout.

Publicist PP, you really need a Q&A style blog. Like Query Shark, but for fashion "updating" instead of author queries. (Please?)

And I dismiss you snotty"some of us like fashion ." The joy with fashion is that it is NOT simply wrapped around current trends. It can be adopted, adapted, chnaged to mesh with personal style.

Actually yeah: following trends trends is just fashion. Adapting looks to suit your tastes and preferences is style.

I prefer style.

I have a very personal style but like to hear about current fashion trends. The two are not mutually exclusive.

No, but many trendy things are just stupid. If you have style, you pick and choose from trends. If you are a slave to trends I figure you don't have the ability to think for yourself.

I'm with you, first PP; I prefer style.

+1

Slave to trends= can't think for myself= applies to most areas of life = waste of time.

I don't think this is a timeless or classic look because it's not a look my grandmother or mother would wear. Nice pants with a blouse and blazer, sure. But jeans and blazer is not timeless.

Then I guess many of us should steer clear of anything that would fall under the timeless or classic category. If a woman in her 30s or 40s would like the fashions that her grandmother, or even her mother, would wear, then she's either extremely lucky to have hip, stylish women in her family, or she doesn't care about style herself. There's a huge ocean in between those two extremes where most of us lie.

She wears skinny jeans only though, no other styles.

If you had her legs wouldn't you???? She actually does wear a boot cut infrequently. Prior to her marriage and skinnies being in style she wore other styles such as boot cut and straight leg.

I'm the PP. I think it's fine to wear things that aren't timeless or classic. But people are arguing that THIS look is a "classic" one, and that's silly, it couldn't be further from classic or timeless.

It may not be totally classic, but it's a basic look that's been around since women started wearing jeans on the reg in the 60s.
