+1. You sound extraordinarily uptight. It sounds to me like your guests are trying to be polite guests by stripping their own beds and helping to set the table. Jesus. |

I bet the OP also seethes when guests dare to put their own dirty dishes into the dish washer, because they don't know the particular way in which she likes it to be loaded.
FORKS GO IN THE FIRST SLOT ASSHOLES! |
| I also wash right away. I don't see why leaving clean sheets on a bed for a month is a bad thing. I keep it covered with a quilt or coverlet. |
Same. They are clean and covered so I don't see the problem at all. |

OP, just throw the sheets away. Next time guests want to visit, tell them they have to bring their own sheets. And then they get to take them home and wash them, too. That's how some beach house rentals work, so why not you.
Really, just fold them up loosely as well as possible and leave them on the floor in the guest room until you're ready to wash them. Folded sheets don't take up as much space, and since they're dirty you don't have to fold them perfectly. That should only take you two minutes. |
This is what I do too. From the options you have: A |
| A - I always strip the bed immediately and wash the sheets. Dirty sheets gross me out. If it's been a long time between guests, like several months, then I'll wash them again prior to the new guest's arrival. |
+1 exactly what my family has always done. If a friend surprise visits when I'm out of town they know to grab the sheets from the closet. |
That happened to me once, OP, and I was so confused. Guests before had always just made the bed and after they'd left I would go about washing the sheets. My preference is that the guest ask me what I'd like them to do. |
| OP, What's the difference between the newly washed sheets sitting in a closet or on a made bed? Wash them now and make the bed. |
Wth? Your guest isn't "mandating" anything. If you don't wash to move the sheets yet, move them somewhere else and don't wash them. I can't believe this is that hard for you to figure out, something else must be bothering you. |
There is no place in the house to store dirty sheets. I usually just keep them on the bed until they need to be washed. If they are stuffed in the laundry closet, I can't do other laundry until they are either washed or tossed on the floor in the middle of a room. The other laundry takes a very high priority over sheets that nobody cares about. |
Dust accumulates under the bed spread? |
I don't use quilts or bedspreads. I don't even own any. |
