HUGE RED FLAG!!!!!!!!!! If we had a board with kids who actually play travel here, they might care enough to listen to members of the community and actually do something!!!!! |
Sure youre not on the board! Well, I will admit, I AM strongly connected to the former BOD. I can say with complete certainty that under Eddies leadership we were growing and our numbers only climbed every year! That is a FACT. lets be honest, our club philosophy was to focus on players development. You say we "didnt win anything" you are still so off base. Our "win" was the kids coming out in record numbers and having fun with their friends. Eddie took that philosophy and created a great club. You and your cronies decided to take it upon yourself and change everything that YOU wanted, a small handful of egos that still after epic failure can only pretend things are great and insult those in their way. I saw this first hand. That handful of people should be ashamed! You know exactly who you are. BTW your sky is falling |
VYS board's focus on registration numbers and fielding four teams not right. Once a travel kid leaves for another club, VYS just pulls up another kid from house or outside area to replace, which often results in weaker travel teams and diluted house league. You can always find someone. But that doesn't mean you are doing a good job just because you can replace all the departing players and still make money. Better metric is how many soccer kids raised in Vienna are leaving VYS travel program mid-season or trying out at other clubs for next fall, etc. The focus of any debate should be on the impact to the kids in the Vienna community, not to VYS the corporation. |
Yes, even the current prez of the week's daughter has moved to mclean! Not certain about his son. Its embarrassing! If they have made things so bad that its not good enough for their own kids, they should take ownership and stick it out. |

VYSA Assistant Technical Director's son. But you know that already, don't you? |
I dont know about the person you are directing that question to but I am well aware of that particular incident. As I said, I was strongly connected with the former BOD and the travel committee at that time, as were you. This is yet another twist on the facts. The TD was in the process of properly handling the situation with the VP of travel at that time. Someone, with the prez of the week at that time, created a drama that was very innapropriate. One question for you, did the team that this coach trained at the time want him to be dismissed? But YOU already know THAT. The TD and TC was in the process of collecting facts and taking care of the situation. One would think that the board would have learned proper process of such problems. But, it seems that the BOD handle things as a small few see fit. |
Just let the kids play for goodness sake. All this angst and drama just to gut what used to be a nice neighborhood club. And now we've got Vienna kids club-hopping and driving all over creation for the mythical "better" training that will maybe result in 1 or 2 kids ever amounting to anything in soccer. ![]() |
The people who think they've figured out who everyone is in this thread is wrong.
I've seen some responses to posts of mine who think I'm on the board. I'm not. I'm not even defending the current board, though I know a couple of quality people on it. My posts today, by timestamp: 11:02 12:33 12:37 13:35 14:08 15:33 Someone else in this thread is defending the state of the club as it stands now. I'm not. The new TD was a horrible hire, and when I've seen board members try to implore him to do things like reinstating Friday night free play, he says a bunch of incoherent nonsense. I WILL say that VYS is a good-sized club, and that means parents' and players' experiences will vary. If you're playing House -- which would be everyone in U5 through U8, about 75% of U9 through U12 boys (maybe closer to 66% of girls), and maybe half of the high schoolers -- the political nonsense barely affects you. I have one kid in VYS House and one kid playing travel elsewhere, and I'm perfectly happy with each of their situations. And some of this "president of the week" stuff doesn't apply to the past. VYS had one president for several years until she moved to an At-Large position in 2014. Then another president served a full one-year term for 2014-15, and he moved to an At-Large position. THIS year, the new president resigned a few months into the year. So Eddie's situation was not handled by a "president of the week." |
Wow you invested a great deal of time on that investigative piece. However if that great board would have continued the same rediculous restrictions that they put on the prior tech team, they wouldnt have to talk that new TD into reinstating programs. The hoops they made them jump thru were rediculous! How it was so successful speaks volumes for them bc that board did not make it easy! Had the board not tried to fix what wasnt broken, if they had not tried so hard to set them up for failure ( which it seems backfired).... then their karma wouldnt have had to take over and a pretty good number of our kids wouldnt be paying the price for their egos. Even if they felt a legit. need to restructure, good Lord, dont you think it would have been beneficial to establish a common philosophy and gameplan prior to our club paying for this individual to come from a different country?! They WASTED alot of OUR $$$ to pay for this ineffective individual. And speaking of wasting money, that prez that you made point that wasnt the "prez of the week" she should be reimbursing our club the 10,000 she threw away with that NSCAA report that she tried so hard to manipulate. That was a disgrace! and when she couldnt, she and that handful of egos chose to pick and choosed the recommendations that fell in line with their agenda. And while we are on margaret, why is she even on the board? At large or otherwise. She has no children in the club. Others were kick out bc they no longer had kids in the club. Had they been in line with this group, they would have most likely been welcomed. If I am wrong regarding any of this, please prove me wrong. Otherwise, start being on the up and up! our most important thing in life is our children, these unethical, juvenile individuals need to grow up and step down... but most important, they owe ALOT of people an apology. Yes I am angry. Many of us are! |
Hey Chuck, we know you are angry, but here's some free advice: let it go. There is a reason over 300 members of the Vienna community showed up to vote you out. It was two years ago. Get over it. And stop pretending to be someone else on this board so you can try to settle old scores from years ago. |
And one more thing, that prez that "served" for a full year before stepping down. He accomplished his main agenda and stepped down. I wouldnt want to be in that position at the final collapse either. This way he can continue to point the finger in any other direction. That group seems well versed in that. |
Youve got to be kidding me! Hahaha. Well chuck would know about the issues I have brought forward! He was a great asset to the board. Had he seen things their way, perhaps he would still be there. And that 300 votes, I strongly question. As would I with the whole "unanimous" votes we have all heard of that WERENT!
Chuck gave his time and ,I am sure when this group "took over" I am sure he moved on he is not petty like these individuals. I only entertain the topic because my family is directly effected and it infuriates me. |
Apparently more than "chuck" is aware of the rediculous doings of these people. |
Trust me, he isnt the one that will settle the score. These people seem to be doig a fine job on their own. Ha |
