VYS board's focus on registration numbers and fielding four teams not right.  Once a travel kid leaves for another club, VYS just pulls up another kid from house or outside area to replace, which often results in weaker travel teams and diluted house league.  You can always find someone.  But that doesn't mean you are doing a good job just because you can replace all the departing players and still make money.  Better metric is how many soccer kids raised in Vienna are leaving VYS travel program mid-season or trying out at other clubs for next fall, etc.  The focus of any debate should be on the impact to the kids in the Vienna community, not to VYS the corporation.[/quote]
