OP: Others have already advised this, but DON'T wait to get a neuropsych eval. I have a middle schooler and we waited until this year b/c we didn't want him labeled or disadvantaged and we just thought that he'd mature out of certain behaviors. We got a diagnosis that we weren't at all expecting and now I really wish I'd known earlier. We would have changed a lot of how we've handled things over the past several years.
I got the same line as you about IEP for accessing the average curriculum. That's not correct.
