and Lee is.

Lamb is looking to lease this space already.

And if LAMB isn't real Montessori (which is also a lie people in new, unimpressive schools tell themselves), give me whatever it is they are serving.

I hesitated to respond to this because this thread is not about what schools are and are not "real" Montessori. But you are clearly ignorant as to what the method is and are hyper sensitive about your school not making the AMI cut. Or perhaps you don't want the truth out so you can keep other ignorant folks under the impression that LAMB is oh so impressive. LAMB is montessori in name only- they are based very loosely on the method. In fact, I could open a school in my basement, throw the word montessori in the name and it would be LAMB. There are no criteria or standards for AMS Montessori. Whether or not you are impressed with any of the other Montessori programs in the area is irrelevant since you so obviously don't even have the slightest clue as to what it really is.

You Lee parents are quite harsh. Crazy you've only been in school a year. You have a lot to endure. Calm down.

You can calm down. The person you are responding to is not a Lee parent. Most Lee parents are very new to Montessori, and certainly don't have animosity toward Lamb. (Many applied there). However, pp is correct that Lamb is not as strict about following Montessori as Lee or other schools seeking AMI certification, for better or worse.

This thread aside, let's not pretend that there have been many threads with uptight Lee parents. There are some Lee parents that made that reputation within months of school starting.

This thread aside and like every other thread within the last 6-8 months aside. I agree things were at bit overwrought on the orientation threads and the obama visit threads, but I think that was just anxiety about being at a brand new school (and dcurbanmom was an outlet for that anxiety). From what I've read on here since the fall, lee moms are as reasonable as any dcurbanmom school posters (which isn't saying much, but it's dcurbanmom!).

Anyone else what to take a guess on there move?

You mean: Anyone else want to take a guess on their move?

Someone was on a Bethune thread not long back saying they "knew Bethune had been promised elsewhere" but wouldn't say who. I know there is another poster (or a few) that keep saying "nothing of the sort if happening" but that'd be my best guess as well.

Bethune refuses to enter the common lottery, has been under fire for scores and residency fraud, and someone here said something about younger grades being transferred to the "new campus." If it IS Bethune, Lee is very lucky. It's a great, quiet, residential spot, with easy access. It has a really great outdoor space and facility, and there are kids and kids for blocks all around who will be scrambling to get in that were "meh" about Bethune.

Is Lee K-8 or do they have plans to be?

Is Lee supposed to be moving for SY 2016-17?

Yes. That is when their lease with Inspired is up.

Well? Did Lee say where they were going?

OP was wrong about announcing first week of school. Parents told early August that an announcement was expected by end of Sept.

Current charter is for K-6, but plans to expand, both up to 8 and then work with other Montessori schools on a high school and down to head start 18 month olds.

I am OP and I was not wrong. That is what an administrator at Lee told me on the phone when she offered me a spot at the school and I inquired about location.

You are who the OP is refereeing to perhaps, but not OP (that's me!). Perhaps you misheard or perhaps there was a week or two where the final decision seemed very close and then more hiccups emerged In any case, we wait.

Are there rumors even? Is Bethune really in the running?

I haven't posted in this thread yet, but was also told very recently on the phone that they'll announce location by the end of September.
Ugh, waitlist offer decisions are tough enough as it is and commutes around DC are tough enough as it is.

I'm the PP who mentioned Bethune and I was totally wrong. They are staying in both locations. The school is growing.
