Unlike you, who have acted 50 since you were 14. Lighten up, Francis!

Don't call me Francis

I'm 27 so I don't think that my behavior is out of the norm. But a lot of men I like have seen me doing things I guess and even though they were doing that stuff with me (raging a bit at a party or two, hooking up with one of my co-workers), they have decided I'm just good for sex. This is not just guys at work who learned things through the grapevine but nowadays any professional man who is linked to my post-college social circle.

I'm really frustrated because I want to be in serious, committed relationship. So what if I like to drink a little bit and party? Don't men want a woman who gets the most out of life?

I see this attitude especially from professional, successful, well-to-do guys - they are MUCH more secretly conservative than I thought. Why are people still like this in the 21st century?

When you use the words "hooked up" and "serious comitted relationship", we laugh at you. It doesn't go both ways. Sounds like you've got quite the reputation around the office. And it's not good, sweetheart

Um yeah. Little late for that. Because not only have those stories circulated, the've grown in detail. A hot makeout session has turned into you dropping to your knees. Simple sex has morphed into you doing anal and begging for more. Watch how the guys in the office are watching you. Some of them want to find out for themselves what's fact and what's fiction.

I think it's peculiar that people think they should be able to escape the consequences for their bad behavior by attacking those who call them out on it.

Why do you think having sex is "bad" behavior? Does it make Baby Jesus cry or something?

Why? Does it sting that PP is just telling OP how it really is? Oh wait, she doesn't want to be held accountable for her actions and it's the men who are the problem

Having explicit fantasies about your co-worker says more about you and your lack of action in real life. Also anyone who spills details about their office hookups, male or female, is to be avoided at all costs. Discretion is not just the responsibility of the woman.

Drinking and having hook-ups are not "bad behavior." They're personal choices, and there's no need to slut shame.

That people, the people who know you and see this behavior aren't going to view it as compatible with someone who's looking for a serious, committed relationship, they're going to see you as someone who wants to have random hook-ups (because that's what you're doing, it's very rational to assume that you want to continue to engage in the behavior you're actively engaging in). And for this reason, they will cross you off the potential girlfriend list and move you onto the potential hook-up list, and then will engage with you depending on whether they're interested in a random hook-up as well. When you are actually interested in a committed relationship, and not just saying it because it's what you're supposed to want, you'll start engaging in behavior that's more conducive to finding a partner. Not because you'll be conforming to some societal notion of what you should do, but because you'll lose interest in meeting guys who only want random hook-ups, and will start looking for guys who share your other interests.

I think you missed the return trip on the Mayflower with the other puritans. You are most definitely on the wrong board

Ha, I am not a puritan at all; in fact, I posted early as a party girl who eventually settled down. But men who sit around manufacturing explicit sexual fantasies and discussing them at work are gross beyond belief. I work in IT and hear it all the time; I also know that none of them are getting any action other than with themselves. Sad.

a lock that is opened by many keys is a useless lock.
