Maybe that'll be a lesson for others trying this approach.

What others were infected?

The in your face people thinking they are so educated and progressive is disgusting. This man as sad as it did should never have entered the U.S. Ebola is serious and should not be treated like it's a common cold. That's how some of you are making this to be. And it's not about color.

He is dead today because he helped try to obtain medical care for a dying pregnant woman who was turned away from the hospital. He may or may not have known she had Ebola, but either way it was a pretty noble thing to do. What a tragedy.

Was he noble when he lied on the airport screening form prior to comming to the U.S.?

Was he noble when he failed to tell the hospital during his 1st visit where he had been and what he had done?

Was he noble when he returned to the apartment, while sick, and exposed the 5 children from 4 different school systems to his Ebola symptoms?

Sorry, he isn't a hero to me.

He wanted to LIVE.

And so he should risk everyone else for his possible benefit? Crass, crass, crass.

+1 If you care so deeply about this man go to the source of the problem and volunteer to help the rest! Not enough volunteers want to travel to West Africa to kill this virus at ground zero. GO!

So far Jesse Jackson seems like the only one who has made this about color, and I doubt he's on this thread. Because I, a progressive, think this man had no right to come here knowingly (and I admit that's just how I see it and it is not yet a proven fact) and infectiously.

It really disgusts me the way people continue to smear this guy on the basis of nothing but their own speculation. You're entitled form your own your opinions about what happened but at least state them as such rather than implying that they're factual.

LOL!

If I die from Ebola, Ebola killed me, not this man. And I, I,I, did I say I get to decide for whom I have empathy, compassion and forgiveness. Yes, there are people who have done horrible things to me and around me and I can still have compassion and forgiveness. I'm not asking you to have it for me, but I'll be damn if I will let you tell me I cannot have it.

Well. Alrighty then.

Whatever he did or did not do - RIP

I have not been following this situation very closely, but from what I have heard, the whole situation is sad to me. From his contracting the virus and how he got it, to his not sharing info during pre-screening attempts, to his dying. A family is grieving his loss unexpectedly and in a judgemental public eye, which must be tough. I think a number of things surrounding this are unfortunate, but it is a very grave consideration when you think of how close everything is and how many people are potentially impacted, and so quickly. I wonder if some of the people on this site that have downplayed the seriousness of ebola, or said it would never come to the U.S. even, would have thought to associate symptoms with the disease also.

Our own speculation as reported by the media, who, while not infallible, don't frequently make stuff up. Or do you think he told them on his first visit to the hospital that he was visiting from Liberia, and had been exposed to a very sick woman who may or may not have had Ebola, and they just said toodleloo, good luck with the antibiotics? Shut up. That's asinine.

The issue isn't what he told hospital staff (and the staff were told by the way, that he'd just come from Africa) it's what he knew and when he knew it.

He did not know he had the virus when he came here.

He stopped to help a pregnant women to the hospital, not knowing that she had ebola.

I do not know what this guy did wrong.

Now can we please stop maligning a dead man?
