The symptoms of malaria are fever, fatigue, headache, nausea and vomiting. How exactly is that so dramatically different? Here in the US, many of the cases in the media that were initially thought to be Ebola have later been ID'ed as malaria. Apparently even hospitals have trouble telling the two apart.

You can feel badly for them and STILL not bring it here.

Obama sending our military without a plan? He hates military and doesn't care what happens to them.

I have said nothing about what I believe to be an appropriate governmental response to Ebola. I have said repeatedly that I think it is unconscionable to smear a dead man on the basis of speculation and innuendo.

Duncan's temperature read 97.3 in Liberia screening. Sound right to anyone?

She was seizing. It's quite common for people to bite their tongues and bleed from the mouth during seizures.

Why are you so doggedly determined to cast this man as evil incarnate? The truth is that you just don't know what he knew or believed. No one can.

I'm shocked that no one from that apartment is showing any symptoms . I'm just stunned that they didn't get it after being in such close contact with him.

Me too, it's incredible and I am looking forward to when they get a clean bill of health - it must be so frightening and stressful for them.

Also, I'm happy for all the people who have been saying some of us are overreacting to be so concerned about it spreading to be right. I will be thrilled to be able to say I was wrong to worry.

I'm guessing it's because he was still in the early stages of the disease, when the viral load is low. Contrast that with West Africa, where so many people are dying at home. Thomas Duncan caught it from a woman who was mere hours from death. The Spanish nurse probably got it cleaning up blood, etc. in the priest's room after he had died. That seems to be the truly dangerous time period--just before and after death.

Blood red eyes?

Ebola is very different from malaria the latter stages. Not that hard.

The taxi driver knew it was ebola and said Duncan did as well. He is an eye witness. I see no reason not to believe him, you on the other hand, are speculating. I see rhat a. Lot on DCUM, people making excuses for bad behavior. Pisses me off

Actually the driver has said explicitly that he DIDN'T know it was Ebola. Have you even read his account??

Jiminez Grugbaye told NBC News earlier this week that Duncan requested help for his pregnant friend, Natahaline Williams, who had been suffering from Ebola, and had denied that Williams had Ebola, saying the problem was only related to the miscarriage.

“I decided to ask him to intervene a bit as to regarding this sickness, what type of sickness it really was, and she told me and reassured me it was not the Ebola thing, it was like abortion."

Grugbaye affirmed he had “no idea” the pregnant girl had Ebola, and told NBC News there were a total of six people in his taxi, himself included. He also said Williams had blood coming out of her mouth.

“No no no, no idea at all… I saw her, she was helpless...

“On the initial stage, she had a slight blood from her mouth, little bit. Then I asked told me that because for the girl’s situation, she chewed her tongue a bit, that what resulted to all the bleeding. But she did not vomit.”

I have a friend who works in a pediatric ICU. She said they've had quite a few possible ebola cases. After testing, it was determined to be malaria.

If highly trained medical professionals can't tell the difference between ebola and malaria, but the taxi driver should know the difference?

The fact that no one is showing signs of ebola is unusual. Louise Troh was his fiance and he was the parent of one of her children . Given the visit reunited lovers one would think she had sex with Duncan. She is 54 and he is 42. If avoiding pregnancy she might have used a condom but at her age? What are the chances of getting ebola during sex? Even if cured it lives in semen for months. So how stupid are we?

Interesting that the Spanish nurse apparently received a dose of zMapp yesterday. That can't look good to Duncan's family.
