Immersion Programs

You are correct.

In ten years when the principal is still having discussions on expanding the immersion, what will you say then. Oh, I forgot- it's racist to discuss that. He he he.... So good to be able to pull the race card when all else fails. We'll never have to take responsibility for anything. We can just say- "You're being racist" when criticized. YAY!!!

Again, why do you care so much about a "mediocre" school?

My child is in dual language, which goes way beyond third grade and is already fluent. Your kids will start a class in third grade and lose fluency. You guys are losing here. Stop defending the school and making bullshit up. Thank goodness most people don't care about Bethune and wouldn't risk their child's education by sending them there.

Just so you know, I posted something about Bethune in response to that angry rabid poster who has a weird fixation on Bethune and their Black teachers. I don't know why, frankly I don't care, but it is weird and off based. No, I do not have a child at Bethune, but because my child attends YY, I find all these posts about schools where one does not have a child or interest in the school off-putting. If you don't care about Bethune, why the need to comment. It seems that you have decided to make bullshiite up. And I wonder if you one of the same people who get on these boards and make this crap up about YY, Basis, Latin, etc. Is it your desire to make your child's school more desireable to others by spreading negative stories about other schools? Why would you care about what I care about. I know you are but what am I... You dip shits never stop! If you can't handle discussion about your school, you shouldn't be on here.

Your idea of "discussion" looks more like "crazy ranting" to me. Sorry.

I agree! Nothing like DC MUM to bring out the crazies that don't know what they are talking about!

C'mon PP, it's clear the angry poster has issues that are all about her and not about Bethune. No amount of responding will help her "be ok", so can we all stop feeding the angry troll now and go back to the original topic of immersion?

That Koolaid is awfully good!! GL Bethune parents. Hope you like that Spanish "class", but you should have higher CAS scores, right...

Anyway, ignoring the crazy poster, good luck to all the Bethune posters who started today! Excited for you guys!

Instead of pathetically pulling the race card and making Bethune look pathetic, why don't you tell the truth. It's dishonest to stand behind an out of touch position (the need to concentrate on English) and get pissed when you're called out. If the school needs to concentrate on English for upper grades, why no plans to expand for lower grades? The answer is obvious- current English only teachers would be displaced. Why is this so hard for you?

This is the most laughable (and ignorant) thing I've read in years!!!! Even on DCMUM!

^^ Agree with this. Just saw Bethune's test scores. Yes, please discontinue the immersion thing in third grade, or right now. These kids definitely need to focus on English.
