I just bought the new Macy Gray Christmas single-love it! I also recommend the Phil Spector Christmas album.

More importantly, the Band Aid song is terrible because it is so sanctimonious. Yeah, thise starving people in a war-torn nation that is largely not christian are only sad because they don't know that it's christmas. The important thing is to be generous one day every year so that we can share the christmas spirit, not to, say, work towards universal peace and prosperity all our lives. Just on Christmas.

That's one of my favorites.
And I can't help but think we've been pouring money into various parts of Africa for decades and they're still crap. It's about time we stop. I don't care if that makes me sound anti-Christmas, we have bigger fish to fry right here. It's got to end somewhere.

We actually don't pour money into Africa, and the money we do spend for health and development is doing a load of good. Did you know that HIV infections are down, treatment is up, and fewer kids are orphaned by the infection? That infant mortality is down, maternal mortality is down, and that immunization rates are up? That there are a few diseases, like polio and some parasites that are on the brink of being eradicated? That eradication of malaria is something we can actually think about? All of that has been done in part by your tax dollars. A tiny, tiny, tiny fraction of each dollar you pay in taxes, yes. Most of your foreign aid penny goes to Israel and Egypt and a few other big recipients. Very little goes to help kids and moms in Africa, but that bit that does...it makes a difference. Merry Christmas.

In addition, "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney has to be the WORST song ever. I know there are better Christmas songs out there, why are we subjected to these two songs over and over again??????

Sorry....haven't read through all the posts but YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS! I hate these two songs. I also hate Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas".

I have found that what I REALLY like in Christmas music is to put on the playlist for Pandora or Amazon Prime for "Indy" or "Alternative" Christmas - never get tired of it - and the songs are all fresh.

I just wish some radio station would start playing "I Believe In Father Christmas," by Greg Lake again, it disappeared a few years ago

I also love "Christmas Cookies" by George Strait and "A Spaceman Came Traveling" by Chris deBurgh

I love Hanson's Snowed In album from the late 90s. This is my guilty pleasure and admission, but it really is super awesome harmonies, and the tunes are just fun.

I listen to Wash 97.1 but they need to use more Christmas songs than their current rotation. I've been listening on and off all month. I'm one of those people who just LOVE Christmas music, but I can definitely deal with no more "Last Christmas" or anything sung by Taylor Swift.

I like a lot of Christmas music but I absolutely hate it when singers try to make their own versions of the song. It's not your song to change! You're not adding anything to it. Sing it well, like Michael Buble, and we'll want to listen to it.
