Christmas Songs - My ears are bleeding

Pandora has a decent Christmas rotation. I never, never listen to 97.1. That way I don't have to hear Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer.

Streisand...best Xmas album ever. (Well, that and the Elf soundtrack)

How can you NOT love Madonna's "Santa Baby"? Or Bon Jovi's Christmas songs? And my absolute, all time favorite Christmas song by the Boss "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" (although Merry Christmas, Baby is a VERY close second)?Hell, I even still own the NKOTB Christmas album...ON TAPE!

Absolutely detest all of this stuff! I also hate Little Drummer Boy, Do You Hear What I Hear, Christmas Shoes, the awful Paul McCartney song that prompted this thread, and the staccato nightmare music on Caillou's holiday special.

you hate The Boss?

I need to see your birth certificate - I'm pretty sure you should be deported.

I like that a lot of older songs are getting remade for covers as every act must do a Christmas album.

I've been particularly enjoying Celebrate Me Home by Lady Antebellum and Kelly Clarkson's cover of Underneath The Tree.

Depressing dirge or a classic?

HENIOUS. just awful. My #1 hated Christmas song (admittedly not exactly Christmas but it's on the holiday stations). #s 2&3 are Christmas shoes and Christmas Eve in Washington. It's not really Christmas time until I hear that crap.

The Taylor Swift and Jessica Simpson Christmas songs are horrendous. Neither of them can sing at all and those two songs highlight that fact.

In addition, "Simply Having a Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney has to be the WORST song ever. I know there are better Christmas songs out there, why are we subjected to these two songs over and over again??????

Lol!! I was at the checkout in a store today when the Paul McCartney song came on and I loudly groaned "I can't stand this song!" The cashier was kind of startled by the passion with which I said it.

(i'd post a link, but I'm at work and my draconian internet blockers won't let me!)

This song is the best. It's our family Christmas song although none of our pets have defiled anyone's teddy bear.

Another AWESOME song is

A classic American Christmas carol from the heartland.

The day I went to the mall to go Christmas shopping every.single.store was playing "holiday" songs. If I heard Bruce Springsteen's "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" one more time, I was going to SCREAM. Was so glad when I got in the car and I could choose the station.

I'd rather eat glass than listen to The Little Drummer Boy. Ugh.

been listening to 97.1 with the kids for most of the past 2 days - haven't heard the waitresses xmas rap or the pogues "christmastime in ny". wash fm - step up your game!

the only xmas song I really don't like is "do you hear what I hear?" so annoying.

I love the Paul McCartney song. I love the bing Crosby/David Bowie version of little drummer boy. My big complaint is they aren't played enough! And how I miss the MTV days of my youth when MTV would play that video and Grandma got run over video.

How can anyone say those are the worst Christmas songs ever when we live in a world of "Christmas Shoes" and "Christmas Eve in Washington"?

My favorite! It never gets old.

I also hate Christmas Shoes and I hadn't heard it at all last year so I thought it was finally gone. I've caught it twice this year so I guess it's not quite dead.

I switch between 97.1 and 101.9 depending on what they're playing. 101.9 gets more into the quirky songs, which is fun on occasion.

I love Christmas music but can't handle Delilah - especially with Christmas mixed in. I'm always driving home during the start of her show and can't hit the buttons fast enough to change tHe station.
