OP here. I'm so very sorry, that has got to be heart breaking. Can you request that PGD be done on your embryos so that you will know that you have healthy viable embryos transferred?
|
Did you have any genetic testing done prior to beginning your IVF? PGD may be a good idea for you and save you heartache. Also, have you considered acupuncture and prenatal yoga for the duration of your pregnancy to avoid miscarriages? |
| I also had many miscarriages and considered PGD- but reading on it more- it seems like the IVF screening is decent enough nowadays if $ is an issue to go ahead- we did and we're a luck story with a healthy 1.5 year old .. |
I had a D&C because both miscarriages were "missed miscarriages" (no heartbeat detected in ultrasound) and my body did not miscarry on it's own. Results from the karyotype test on both fetuses were normal (no chromosomal abnormalities). I'm not sure what type of genetic testing prior to IVF you're referring to. WE had all the standard testing that SGF does prior to starting IVF. PGD wouldn't have detected anything since it wasn't chromosomal. At this point if we try IVF again, my RE is going to have to try to figure out what's going on. Also, I'm kind of clueless about acupuncture/yoga -- I know it's a stress reliever, but how would it prevent a miscarriage? |
| I go to Pulling Down the Moon, right across the hall from Shady Grove. I am not pregnant but trying. I go for acupuncture. But I know they have yoga classes for those who are and who want to get preg. Yoga is supposedly very good for increasing the blood flow to your uterus and baby. Some studies have shown that acupuncture combined with fertility treatment has greater success than fertility treament done alone. These are all in the binder on the table at Pulling Down the Moon. I was there for my acupuncture there one day and a woman walked in who looked like she was at least 48 years old! I was told she was pregnant and did prenatal yoga before IVF and is continuing with yoga now that she is preg. Good luck toyou. |

Looking for any help or information I have new insurance this year and had to have a pred-auth send from my current infertility clinic. My doctors office called me and was told that I am denied this new plan because of my age 41 and estradial level. I don't know what to do I am so frustrated has anyone been in this situation and if so should I try and fight or take this as a sign.
My brief history I have 5 year old son had him at 36, did not think I would have issued having another but I did. I had Ivf #1 successs but ended in ectopic losing my left tube tryed 2 more time no success my doc was going to try #4 but isurance changed and here I am. |
Fight. Fight. Fight! It is one thing to decide on your own that you "had enough", etc.. but to have the decision to stop or keep going taken away from you sounds awful. I personally would always be resentful. |
| Thanks for your reply, I will fight this!!! |
OP here. Just wanted to give an update. I start stims this weekend!!! So excited to get the ball rolling after this torturous wait, due to the SG lab closing. I'm excited yet also very scared it won't work. Please keep your fingers crossed for me!!! TIA!!!
|
| Good luck, OP. I will start stims in about 3 weeks with SG, so I won't be far behind you. |
Wonderful!!! A stimming buddy!!! I was supposed to start stims tomorrow but AF decided not to arrive after taking BCP's which happens from time to time!!!
