Husband Not Spending Birthday with wife and kids, but brother

Someone advise me! I'M FURIOUS!!! We always have a small family party for my brother. On his birthday, my brother promised he would be home early---He never showed but instead called us---LATE and said he was sorry he was not home but his friends took him out to dinner. Of course, I ordered take out---for him....and broke my back getting a special cake he likes...but I feel sooo dissed! My mother won't say anything to him---everything he does is ok but I AM TIRED doing this crap and If I did this stunt-I'd get my ass reamed out for a month by the whole family!!
