My coworker, a 40 year old, is told she's a cutie a lot. Most people (including me who is late twentysomething) assume she's my age. I think "cute" is usually reserved for petite, atttractive women who tend to look young for their age.

My ex is 2 years older than me but would always be asked about my age because they thought he was robbing the cradle with this young college girl. Turns out I'm more accomplished, educated, and work harder than him!
