$10k in 2004, 75 guests in a small town in Pennsylvania. |
About 10 k including rings, dress, suit, honeymoon and international airticket (miles) for 1 guest. About 50 people, sitdown dinner in 2007. |
$60 for the wedding license and courthouse ceremony. |
22:20 - love Cape Cod! Are you from there?
Am I the only one who thinks some of these women sound spoiled (and not for the better)? Don't get me wrong, I'm sure the weddings were great. |
$20,000 - 2008, Florida, 80 guests |
$11,000, 2004, in Boston. |
About 25k for a small (55 people) but elegant sit down dinner wedding in d.c. Not including the honeymoon. |
How are people having weddings for under 10k? We had 200 guests, in DC, sit down dinner and open bar (of course) in 2007. My dress was only $150, flowers and photography were probably $5,000 total. I paid for bridesmaid dresses and tuxes and for the girls' hair, so that was a bit expensive. But seriously, just the space rental and the food and drinks were $35,000. Dinner was amazing - like high end restaurant quality food. I wanted to treat my guests to a fabulous party. Total cost was about $50,000. Anyway, if you had a cheaper wedding, please explain in detail! |
Reception was 30K (275 people) other costs for the day were about 15K....adding in the rehersal dinner, day after brunch, honeymoon, rings and (sadly) we were close to $100,000...thankfully split between us and dear parents!bbbbbbb |
Really? I don't think anyone has sounded spoiled. If anything the woman who had the more expensive weddings have sounded embarrassed or even regretful... |
Everyone is just having fun on here... Why do you have to make a rude comment? Are you jealous? I don't get why you felt the need to say that. No one even write enough for you to conclude thru were spoiled other than the $$$ spent. |
$30k, 100 people, 2009, San Francisco. |
$9000 in 2009, Austin overlooking Lake Travis. That figure includes dress, tux, flowers, car service, photography, dinner , drinks, and the two weeks we stayed in Austin before the wedding. I think we did really for everything we got.

I would wager that most of them aren't have 200 guests + an open bar. You sound like you are defending your right to a higher-cost wedding? If you feel great about treating your guests to a fab party, wonderful! Fun and joy can be had for less than $10k, and anywhere in between! We all make different choices for different reasons. FWIW, I was astounded at the actual costs of hosting a wedding in a more expensive city. Here, it is much harder to have cheaper weddings, but it is possible. You just forgo certain things, or DIY, or choose a cheaper mid-range option, or have a state-park wedding, or rent a taco trunk for catering (amazing!), or have a super-intimate wedding...you get the picture... |
Ok thanks. Yeah, not defensive about it, just genuinely curious about what you get for $10k. I guess I just had different "requirements" in mind for mine and I don't think I could have met those any cheaper. |
