$15,000 -- 2009 --- 110 people -- WV includes, ceremony, dress, reception, photog, video, flowers etc.

1999, $4,000 for a wedding for 150. We were poor law school students!

2005, 180 people, somewhere around $55k. My parents gave me $20k and I paid the rest; dress was $2600 and that probably wasn't worth it since no one will ever wear it again (I have 2 boys) The biggest cost, that I do not regret, was the music. I really wanted this band I had been going to see for like 10 years, and they were $7k. DH kicked in $300 (poor medical resident). In-Laws paid for the honeymoon.

Yes, $55,000 is a TON of money to spend on one day, but you know what? 5.5 years later, I still think about it almost every day and don't regret a thing. I had the best time at my party and I am married to the best friend I could have.

We had a gorgeous, elaborate wedding and paid all of it, a lot of money, out of our own pockets. Not sorry I did it, given the circumstances. But honestly, it taught me so very much about people that I wish I had never known. Weddings and funerals bring out the best in people and more importantly, the worst in people. It is good to find out what you are getting into, I suppose!

I keep coming back to this thread and am honestly shocked, my honeymoon airfare alone cost 4k.

Probably about $40,000, not including rings or honeymoon. 30 people in Austin, Texas. There wasn't really any one thing that was a huge splurge, although the flowers were very expensive. The dress was also about $3500. We also paid for the travel costs of about 5 family members, and hosted a couple of events the day before the wedding (it was a destination wedding). DH and I paid for everything except the rehearsal dinner.

It's a ton of money, sure, especially for only 30 people. But it was an amazing, amazing day. And like 20:01, I still think about it every day and smile. Wouldn't change a thing.

We had 2 ceremonies - spent about $50k (excluding rings and honeymoon) for approx 250 guests in Cairo Egypt and another $1,000 for an informal affair for about 30 guests at my mother's home in Oregon. Both parties were perfect in every way.

PP here with the 1996 $5K wedding. We spent less than $1K on our Cape Cod honeymoon. And I included that in the $5K figure.
