How much did your wedding cost?

| My ex-husband is a well-known writer (of formulaic crime fiction) and quite the swinging fellow in liberal New York society. Ergo, we were expected to entertain on a rather grand scale when we wed. Coupled with the divorce settlement, our now-defunct nuptials ended up costing him "an arm and a leg." LOL! |

| I must live in a bubble delusional about this stuff because I figured the numbers would be far higher. I spent 5k on my dress alone and I thought I went on the low end of things. |

$7K for a non-lavish cocktail affair for about 40 people in DC - 2004. Of course if you include the ring it was $34K.

15-20 Family and close friends - NY, fabulous food, cocktails and wine - Less than $500 for dress. Lovely flowers - No dancing. Fabulous photography. And a beautiful room at the Waldorf that night. |

My wedding cost $12,000, and my parents covered about $8000 of that...and they are still wonderful! |
