You must be new money to think this. Many students at Penn genuinely want to be doctors, do drug research, work in policies, engineering, teaching, non-profit. Not everyone is trying to “get rich” like you are.” |
+100 In addition Penn Engineering(Seas) grads make the highest average starting salary, over wharton too, and it has been this way for at least 4 yrs. Quant finance/other top finance, MBB, top tech all target Seas, as well as physics and math majors in CAS. Engineering is also the lowest admit rate among the 4 schools. It has been sub-3.5% overall ED plus RD together, for 4 yrs the Dean announces it evey yr. Of course its due to demand, with a large portion of the overall 70k apps aiming for the 400-450 spots in seas out of the incoming class size of 2430 total. |
| SLAC boosters sad they didn’t get invited to the party. |
Oh yes it is. PP is right. |
lol ummm no |
Yet USNWR 2026 Top Engineering Programs 17. Northwestern 21. Columbia (tie) 21. Penn (tie) yikes |
| If you want international prestige, go to Harvard and call it a year. Otherwise, you’re fine. |
| Duke = Williams > Penn > JHU = Northwestern > Penn State Altoona |
Williams doesn't belong. Sorry. |
|
You said to throw in caltech
Caltech Hopkins Duke |
|
Sorry
Caltech Columbia Hopkins |
+1, no one cares about American schools other than Harvard. H bomb just hits harder than other schools and that’s fine- does it mean Harvard is the best school in the US? Of course not. It just means it has the most cultural cache |
There’s so many better schools for engineering. Wharton is one of one |
Duke is too high too |
This, Wharton is gauche, UChicago or MIT math/stats/physics majors, not so much. |
