How am I going to be reimbursed?!

You don't have a claim against the government (probably). The importer paid the government. You paid the importer or customs broker. You need to take it up with them.

So will this be a giant windfall for UPS and FedEx who paid the tariffs and got reimbursed by their customers, and will now get reimbursed again the gov?

No if UPS paid the tax and got reimbursed by the customer the customer will have proof they paid the tax.

One reason for Kavanaugh's dissent, based on news reports, is that refunds will be next to impossible.

That may be true, but it's not a reason to allow the admistration to flout the laws.

If only someone had tried to get the Supreme Court to enjoin Trump from collecting his illegal tax until the case was resolved…

Were tariffs also paying for the surge in ICE enforcement? Are ice agents not going to get their bonuses?

But in that case the customer did not pay the tax. It paid UPS. UPS paid the tax.

Trump knew it was illegal when he was doing it. The refunds are going to be a shit show.

The plaintiffs in these cases specifically sought injunctions, but they were denied because the Trump regime argued there was no irreparable harm since tariffs could just be refunded if later found illegal.

No. ICE budget was increased by Congress.

So Trump will have to find another way to grift instead of "make a crypto deposit or give me a golden trophy in front of a crowd and your products will be exempt".

Correct, they’ve already said as much.

They certainly will but the other authorities available are much more limited. They have lots of conditions, like caps in the amounts, time limits on how long they can last, requirements for a notice and comment rule making than takes a year, etc. Trump can no longer impose 1000% tariffs on France because Macron said something mean while Trump was taking his morning dump.

No in this example UPS paid the tariff and was reimbursed by the customer. I had this happen to me. I ordered ceramic planters. The price jumped from $120 each to $500 each. Was contacted by the shipper saying this is your new cost because of tariffs. I declined and I have no idea what happened to the items.

If I had said yes. The shipper would have paid the tariffs and I would have had to pay the additional money before the shipper would release the items.

WSJ has a report from the room where he was when he found out - closed door meeting with governors. He left shortly after getting the news to prepare a response.

Should make for an interesting State of the Union.

There are already news reports that ICE agents aren’t getting their bonuses but it has nothing to do with tariffs. Just the Dump administration being incompetent and/or cheap.

Trump has many ways to grift. Just yesterday he transferred $10 billion of taxpayer money to his account at the Board of Peace, an account only he controls.

So how is that different than a case where I buy something from a store and they include a tariff surcharge to cover their tariff cost? Does the store get the refund or do I?
