I am a married man who is in shape and wife is not.
Still love her, but yes - it sucks OP. Obviously people can get cosmetic surgery to look better; but being fit just takes some minor discipline. Eating half decent and maybe 6-7 hours a week to be active/exercise. It is not that hard. Getting a 6 pack abs type in shape is next level, but to not have a belly or back fat is easy. |
I’ve always been an exerciser. I have a normal BMI. I have a belly and back fat. |
Sorry, BMI means nothing. Belly and back fat are not attractive in swimsuits or tropical attire. |
| I am 43F and have a BMI of 34 at 5'3". I stand and walk all day due to work and not losing any weight at all. Activity has nothing to do, your body reacts to hormones in a completely different way. |
+1 Weird and annoying. |
You're like soooooooo smart and good looking. Tell us more.

The question isn’t whether that’s attractive. The question is whether back and belly fat are easy to get rid of. Where your body prefers to store fat is highly genetic. I’m in good shape (cardio and strength training), eat healthfully, and have healthy body weight and body fat. I still store fat in those areas. |
If you have a flabby stomach and back fat it is not attractive. At any age. Being a female at 20-30% does mean if you are on the higher end of “healthy”, sure you will carry it differently than some women who win the genetic lottery and carry it in their boobs or something. But if you’re at 30% and need to get to 25 to lose that stubborn fat then short of surgery that is what you have to do. So to be attractive you probably need to get closer to 20 than 30. Or be happy at 30, healthy and not look good for warm weather/swimsuit vacations. Below 20 is like professional athlete for a female and if you are there you are looking at an 8 pack or 6 pack. |
| Males normally need to be below 15% body fat to look fit. They can drop to 8 or 9% and be fine - not pass out or have physical limitations or whatever. Those are typically your athletes for skilled/speed positions. |
you need to make some changes, something is not working and you are in obese category. |
Omg, I had hope for humanity until this post. What in the world is wrong with you? |
Not weird. Not annoying. It's downright sad and really disgusting. Who does this for a vacation? How shallow are these people?; Don't answer. |

“You can’t outrun a bad diet.” Look at what you eat. |
So walking and standing are not enough, even with construction jobs it can be not enough. Your body needs to get it's resting heart rate up for 75 minutes or more per week, 50-80 percent of your max heart rate. Otherwise it won't do very much, you're just maintaining that weight. My BMI is 127, (5'8 female at 177 lbs) and I look fat as hell. So I'm sorry but 34 is morbidly obese....walking at work is not going to do shit. |
