NP. I am at 26. 2 at 5.5" I am on a beta blocker, and have no thyroid, oh, and post menopausal. I eat about 1100 to 1320 cal a day, exercise every damn day and am on my feet. The weight will not drop. If I even eat 200 cal even one day or do not track for a few days, I will shoot up immediately. That God I am not married to an a$$wife like OP. |
|
Let's remember OP started with snorkeling and badic tourist stuff then added high elevation hike with elevation gain to roster. So Blue Mountains or something.
Her DH may do as well as she does despite her "training" for it. FFS I am over 65 and hiked up mountain trails at elevation in Utah and Colorado without training for it. Didn't post my selfies though.m |

I hate the very idea of using a vacation as incentive for anything other than learning how to relax and enjoy life. The fact that you're mad that your spouse didn't meet some kind of weightloss goal (you set) before daring to take some time off from regular life suggests you're insufferably competitive and high-strung.
I hate the idea of losing weight for an event, and a vacation just took the top spot for "events to not lose weight for", right after weddings, parties, etc. If you want to lose weight, go do that. But don't hang your vacation happiness on your size, and definitely don't put that kind of pressure on your partner. Absolutely gross behavior, OP. |
Hah! This is too real. Men get it pretty easy when it comes to weight loss. Stupid having hormones!
|
Nobody cares what you think is attractive. The question is whether it’s easy to lose belly and back fat. It’s not. |
Dp It does not sound like you are logging calories correctly. Either that or your body sciences different than every other organism on the planet. |
woah! you seriously need to do something about this. |
| I was on a beta blocker Toprol XL. I gained weight slowly. My cardio asked me if I thought I was gaining. I said oh thank you for asking! Yes! He cut my dose and 10 pounds vanished quickly no other changes. |
No, I am certainly logging everything correctly . Your widget in widget out philosophy just doesn't pan out for millions of people, or maybe you do not have these problems, such as no thyroid and cardiac issues stemming from no thyroid. Some of us aren't like every organism on the planet and most post menopausal women will be happy to corroborate. Oh, I should mention that I am a vegan, too. |
It’s not a “philosophy”. It’s a thermodynamic law. Nothing you mentioned is an exception to physics. If you think you have found an exception, publish the paper and submit it to peer review. You are just in a plateau. If you maintain a deficit you will lose weight. |
| Oh man. I would be super excited to go on a vacation with my husband to the Caribbean. Assuming he is a normal functioning adult, I would not care or say anything about his physical appearance or health if he did not indicate he wanted me to do so. Geez. |
The human body is not a closed system of thermodynamics. I’m pretty sure that this is accepted fact and doesn’t need a published paper. |
Well I have been in a plateau for 2 years. Tell me that you don't understand metabolism, thyroid disease, and pharmacological beta blockers and arrythmia agents without saying it. Just doesn't work the way you think, buddy. Hope you are not someone's personal trainer, because you are not informed. I don't have to publish papers, there's plenty written on this topic, but you have to actually learn to read. Here's a way to get started https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8000220/ https://heartrhythmdoc.com/beta-blockers-weight-gain-inevitable/ |
Conservation of energy applies over time. You hit a plateau. |
Like I said. You hit a plateau. You’d know that if you read the response you quoted while you were typing that condescending response about learning to read. If you increased your calories you’d likely augment weight gain due to hormones and the fact that your body will store the extra energy. |
