Why are so many of my friends not discussing politics (at least by text or email)? I’m in a few group friend chats and

Ummm what?! Op asked why people aren't talking about what's going on in our country. You call that a “nuanced opinion”? I call that a Democrat. Plenty of democrats believe exactly what you wrote. I have no problems with people who believe as you do, and vote democrat. I’ve got a lot of problems with people who purport to believe as you do, but vote republican.

PP you replied to. Many of my democratic friends can’t stand any criticism of the immigration system or certain types of immigrants. I am an immigrant myself so I’m not as naive and I see a lot of my compatriots abusing the system in many ways. But god forbid you say something, like maybe most or at least some of the Somalian fraud was exactly that?
