Omg, are you insane???

Do not use a razor on her upper lip.

It will give eventually her stubble, a 5 o'clock shadow, and posdibly ingrown hair.

The only solutions are waxing or permanent hair removal.

No it won’t. I’ve been doing it for 30+ years with no issues. Stop spouting ignorance.

+1. I'm surprised at the comments for laser and waxing and threading. Laser, wax and thread require taking her somewhere, and it's very painful. Most of the cheap laser places are a temporary fix. Get her a Tinkle razor. I've been doing this for years and it works great, it's an old wive's tale that shaving makes hair grow in differently.

Waxing the upper lip is not at all painful

Disagree, but it’s fast and worth it. My mom started taking me when I was quite young. Threading, on the other hand, I find to be torturous for upper lip.

YES!

You might not be able to see the stubble but everyone else can.

This is not true for most. My DD has used it for years and doesn’t get stubble. Women aren’t men. Their upper lip hair isn’t coarse- at least in the majority of women, even those with darker hair, the upper lip hair isn’t going to be coarse enough to create stubble look.

It's not about coarse hair it's about a blunt edge from cutting/shaving as opposed to a tapered edge from plucking where the hair is growing from the root.

I am always shocked by the amount of women here who claim to shave their faces.

Waxing creates wrinkles around the mouth (particularly above the lip).

I don't know about the wrinkles, but this is what I gave to my tween when she mentioned wanting to get rid of lip hair. Seems to work well for her.

I’ve shaved my arms and face (in addition to legs, armpits) for decades.

Hasn’t grown in darker or thicker yet

Why?

I’m a huge fan of it. I get that very light soft peach fuzz type hair in some areas but I shave my full face because it makes my skin look great

Not bleach.

Start with waxing.

Nads cold sugar wax is DIY ar home and very simple to use.

+1 absolutely no to bleach

The problem with waxing (or threading) is that you have to let the hair grow first - and who wants to walk around with hair on your face for all to see? I finally did electrolysis on my upper lip and it hurt like hell, but at least it’s permanent.

Could you please link to what you use?

I believe it’s this one but any similar brand will do the job:

I wish I could find something like this but much tinier to do the base of my nostrils - the part that shows. That is the worst for unwanted hair for me.

That definitely exists- look for nose hair remover tool.

Why not try a Bellabe spring tool? You can buy it on amazon. It’s a spring that you roll over the hair and it removes it- kind of like self-threading.

+100 lots of vain parents here.

Lots of options. Wax at home kits like flamingo and parissa are good. You can get a facial razor (e.g. from Sephora or maybe target). When she gets a bit older perhaps laser hair removal

Disagree. A mustache on a woman is not socially acceptable. She should help her daughter rather then let her walk around like that.

Spoken as a woman who has never had this issue.
