It is a form of snobbery.
Like people who take great pride in announcing they don’t own a TV. You did your research and found something you think will meet your family’s needs. Ignore the haters. |
So they shouldn’t judge you but you can judge them? 🤔 |
|
I think it but don’t say it out loud.
But I think the same of all big cruises which is why I’ve never been on one and never will. There is nothing worse to me than a sea of humanity trapped together on a ship but It’s rude to make those comments and anyone with any social etiquette knows that. I just say “have a great time!” |
+10000 this is very common |
+1 And I also think anyone who's a parent recognized the benefits of a cruise, all-inclusive with a kids club, etc. A lot of people do these vacations and it's the same people who were doing cool international adventures before kids. Phase of life I am skeptical that people are voicing this to your face. |
|
I doubt anybody said that to your face but ok.
Disney is evil AF and basically epitomizes the dumpster fire that is late stage capitalism. It’s for dull people. |
Yes, but it is universally understood to be trashy. So… |
| They are very rude. Enjoy your well-earned vacation. You will love it. |
| Hi OP, I’m neither a cruise nor Disney person but I’ve heard great things about the Disney cruises! Jerks will be jerks. Enjoy your vacation!!!! |

The Disney cruise itself was good but I’d never take one again. Some of the parents were awful. They let the kids run wild. Some of the teens were just obnoxious at the food and drink places so we ordered room service instead of going to the fast food places. One teen literally shoved their drink cup in front of me blocking mine. We had the late dinner and would feed our kid room service so they were not hungry cranky and they could handle being up late. The table next to us had three kids that the parents ignored and the youngest tantrums the entire time. The staff literally hand fed the kids to get them to calm down while the parents relaxed. You could see we were pretty annoyed but said nothing. Not sure if the other family complained when we’d give them nasty looks or the staff saw it and moved us. In hindsight I should have asked. The tantrums were epic and we felt bad as the kids were clearly hungry and overtired and should be in bed.
Shows and boat was really crowded. Food was good and staff were attentive. Room nice. My kid hated the kids club. It looked boring and the food was basic and terrible especially for kids with food allergies or picky. They called us which was good to get our kid as he asked for us. The sinks are cool. We have been to Disney a few times. We got a really good price on a balcony via the military discount so we figured we’d try it. |
Psshht. Everyone is judgmental, including you right now. You’re not gonna make me feel bad about this, but go off. |
My cousin and her family do Disney almost yearly in addition to other travels. They have the money to do it right which is VIP private tour in the parks. No waiting in line, personal tour guide, etc… Of course their experience is going to be very different then the typical family. |
You don’t need all that. Just go off season. I’d pull mine out in ES to go usually when there was half days and holidays in the fall. But, we also get military discounts so huge price difference. |
| I used to work at Disney and honestly compared to similar retail jobs they treated their staff pretty well. Now that's mostly due to the employee union but it wasn't a bad place to work. |
| Our Disney cruise was so much fun. Great food and just fabulous shows. Have fun!! |
