In a civilized country, Democrats do not resist the enforcement of federal laws. |
Me too! I wouldn't be caught dead voting for Trump and/or Biden. |
It’s a good start. It looks like PDJT has is letting LE off the leash now. I’m looking forward to seeing more leftists getting what they deserve when they attack LE. |
Why not try getting your jollies the way everyone else does—watch porn on your phone. |
They pretend that they want the states to take care of themselves and decide what is best for their own people. But they actually want the feds to control everything and everyone. |
If someone doesn't identify themselves, there is no indication that they are enforcing laws and as such we have every right to defend ourselves. Funny how Republicans USED to be all about defending themselves against unknown, unidentified assailants, Castle Doctrine, George Zimmerman, Kyle Rittenhouse, and so on. Prior to Trump unleashing ICE in an uncontrolled way as he's done if you asked a random Trump supporter if they felt they had the right to defend themselves if carrying concealed and were suddenly approached by some group of unidentified, masked thugs, jumping out of a random unmarked vehicle, running up and randomly grabbing a family member, they'd have said it would be a legitimate and justifiable use of force to pull their concealed pistol or otherwise defend themselves. If this unidentified band of thugs were trying to kick in their door without identifying themselves, they'd be shooting at them with AR-15s. But now allasudden they say "NO you should not ever defend yourself against masked, unidentified assailants, EVER and DO NOT EVER resist." Weird. |
There is suspicion that the owners /supervisors were fine with ICE raiding the farm because it was around payday.
March 2024 Los Angeles, CAGlass House Brands Inc. was slapped with a proposed class action lawsuit last month, alleging California labor law violations. A former worker accuses the major California marijuana producer of engaging in a systematic pattern of wage violations, including unpaid overtime and unrealistic workloads. Melendez claims that he and his co-workers “regularly worked in excess” of eight hours a day and 40 hours a week to meet “excessive quotas” imposed by Glass House. Those quotas comprised trimming four pounds of cannabis a day at a marijuana farm in Ventura County and workers either had to shorten or eliminate meal breaks to meet those demands. Because the company was short-staffed, it led to unreasonable expectations for workers, such as the four pounds-a-day demand. (Four pounds is about double the output of a skilled hand-trimmer, according to a Mobius case study.) The lawsuit claims that Glass House: Failed to pay wages, sick pay and overtime pay, Failed to provide meal breaks, rest periods, bathroom breaks, Exposed workers to safety hazards while working overtime, such as recovery or cool down periods in the heat, Did not provide itemized wage statements, Did not reimburse business expenses, and other violations under the state’s quota and unfair-compensation laws. |
Reminds me of previous raid or two in which a factory was raided . The company allowed it or called it in because the workers had a lawsuit against them. I don’t remember what factory it was. But anyways this is the issue with illegal/ undocumented people. They are easily exploited. |
There are special regulations in CA gor cannabis growers and workers. The supervisors/owners should be attested and prosecuted!
1. Everyone who works in cannabis cultivation has to be at least 21. 2. Cannabis cultivation workers are NOT considered agricultural workers. From CA state website: Q. Are employees in cannabis cultivation considered agricultural workers falling under IWC Wage Order 14? A. No. Although employees in cannabis cultivation are working in defined agricultural occupations for an agricultural employer, the Medicinal and Adult-Use Cannabis Regulation and Safety Act (“MAUCRSA”) specifically provides that those employees are subject to IWC Wage Order 4-2001, not IWC Wage Order 14-2001 governing agricultural occupations. [California Business & Professions Code §26065]. As such, employees engaged in the cultivation of cannabis are entitled to overtime pay for hours worked in excess of eight in any workday or more than 40 hours in any workweek. (Agricultural employees are entitled to overtime after 10 hours in any workday, or more than 6 days in a workweek.) Employees engaged in the cultivation of cannabis are also entitled to double their regular rate of pay for hours worked in excess of twelve in any workday and for all hours worked in excess of eight on the seventh consecutive day of work in a workweek. Employees engaged in the cultivation of cannabis are entitled to applicable meal periods and rest periods and may recover one hour of pay at the regular rate of pay for each workday that the meal period or rest period was not provided. 3. Since marijuana is NOT legal under federal law, any non-citizen who is working on a cannabis farm is potentially putting their ability to become a citizen in jeopardy. |
We could go on about this all day, but the upshot is that you agree that it’s not a civilized country. Congratulations on grasping reality (in part). |
Exactly. Thanks to Trump and Biden's reckless immigration policies, we have undocumented children caught up in a situation where they are targets of Federal Law Enforcement officers while illegally working at a pot farm. This what you people voted for. Slow clap. |
Just a quick reminder for people that share trumps dementia, Biden had a bipartisan immigration plan that Trump killed through his Republican yes men, even though he wasn’t president. |
Newsom replying to Miller whining…
“This fascist cuck in DC continues his assault on democracy and the Constitution, and his attempt to replace the sovereignty of the people with autocracy. Sorry the Constitution hurt your feelings, Stephen” |
Trump is never going to participate in meaningful immigration reform. That would chip away at his key issue--demonizing migrants. If he did, he would just be left with demonizing trans people and that may not be enough to keep his followers in line. |
Why would the latter be an excuse for the former? There is never an excuse. |
