That’s very silly. Biden had a plan, Trump killed it through his sycophants. Now we are stuck with this kindergarten version 1939 Germany.

Trump and Biden's kick 'em all out, let 'em all in, kick 'em all out plans are an embarrassment to this civilized first world country and this is a primary reason why most experts consider them the worst two presidents ever. Do better people.

You are exhausting with your relentless habit of lumping Biden and Trump together. Biden may have had his faults, but was more than qualified to be president while Trump just pretendsto play one on TV. It’s apples and oranges.

No one in their right mind is equating Biden with Trump. Biden will go down as the second worst or one of the worst presidents we've ever had but Trump is on an island by himself as far as worst POTUS ever is concerned. Needless to say, neither should have ever been handed the keys to The White House.

Sorry for hurting your feelings. Geeesh

Totally disagree. Trump has accomplished far more during his first 6 months than most presidents accomplish during their full term. I think he has done a fabulous job.

Yes, but none of his accomplishments were good for America. Luckily you are in the minority, especially when it comes to this particular subject.

Oh come on, Trump is the worst, but Biden will be 60th percentile, at worst.

A professor at the local university (Cal State Channel Islands) was arrested and detained for days for throwing back a tear gas canister. He is being charged with assault.

Random questions but how did his hand not get burned throwing it back? And is it really assault if no one got hurt when he threw it back (the witness statement from the officer states it went over their heads)?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=305dtsKKEI4
It is around 2:35. He tries to kick it out of the way, misses then throws it, then gets pushed pretty hard to the ground. Can't they call it even?

Nope. He needs to be charged. Just because nobody was hurt by his actions doesn't mean he didn't commit assault.
If you interfere with the operations of law enforcement, you will be held accountable. This guy did just that.

Why am I not shocked by his appearance? Hopefully no one stole his e-bike while he was in jail.

For the neophytes, assault is the wrongful act of causing someone to reasonably FEAR imminent harm.

Battery is the intentional and harmful or offensive touching of another person without consent.

If throwing a gas canister is assault, why is it okay for the police to continuously assault citizens during a peaceful protest?

How is that not self defense?
What was he supposed to do?
Sit on it or throw it into the crowd?

The definition of “peaceful” is ever expanding. I guess we’re all lucky there were no buildings to burn down or stores to loot.

Rep. Salud Carbajal was part of a violent mob of protestors attempting to obstruct federal law enforcement as they executed a criminal search warrant at a marijuana facility. He cites “peaceful” protestors, when in fact these rioters were launching rocks at officers, injuring at least one ICE employee who was left bloody.

According to agents on the ground, the congressman doxed that same ICE employee by sharing his business card with members of the violent mob.

THIS is precisely the rhetoric that has led to orchestrated attempts to murder officers and a 700% increase in officer assaults.

May the congressman’s constituency always remember he chooses violence over the rule of law.

You know that Trump and people acting on his behalf have engaged in doxxing, including of LEOs, right?

Some examples:

*DHS and Leavitt posted a 2021 order of protection petition on X, which included the home address of Kilmar Abrego Garcia's wife in Maryland. This forced her and her children to relocate to a safe house.

*Donald Trump repeatedly targeted Loren Merchan, the daughter of Judge Merchan who presided over the case in which Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Trump's public attacks were seen as inciting doxxing by supporters. Trump’s rhetoric led to Loren Merchan receiving death threats, and she was advised to stay away from her home for safety.

*Following the FBI’s search of Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence on August 8, 2022, Breitbart News published an article that included the names of two FBI agents who signed the receipt for property taken during the raid. The Washington Post and other outlets reported that this action led to online threats against the agents, with their names circulating on right-wing platforms like Truth Social and pro-Trump message boards. The Justice Department and FBI condemned the publication, citing risks to agent safety, especially given the subsequent spike in threats against federal law enforcement.

I’m a little bit torn here. In the short term things like this are awful and I feel bad for the people involved. However, in the long-term as this goes on Trump’s support on his signature issue declines. So it’s almost as if for the good of the country they should keep pushing this. That’s selfish on my part because I’d like to return to an age of sanity in the United States..

Oh, they will remember. Can’t wait for Election Day

I feel conflicted too. Given the Trump administration's huge emphasis on deporting migrants--way above every other issue--and the $170 billion for immigration enforcement in the BBB, there is now a systemic imperative to scale up and intensify efforts, which will eventually lead to really bad things happening and will tank Trump's numbers even further. A lot of people will suffer, but it may be his undoing.

He should file charges of assault against the police for lobbing the tear gas canister at him in the first place. If it's assault to throw it back then it was assault to throw it at him.
