This. And if a man there wants to climb a building and fall off, it’s not anyone’s fault but his own. Certainly it isn’t the fault of the people who go there to try to enforce our laws. We live in a civilized country and part of that is law enforcement. Otherwise we wouldn’t bother to have laws at all.

Civilized??? Now we have military gangs grabbing people with no warrants, no identification, a concentration camp with no oversight and now looking for fealty to only Trump, not the constitution. DOJ is supposed to to be separate from the WH, but Trump wants to literally test loyalty to him if they want to keep their jobs.

This cannabis farm was employing children. I’m genuinely perplexed why Democrats are defending the farm.

I can understand fighting against ICE snatching people without criminal records off the streets in unmarked cars and masks. That’s anti-American and wrong. But this is a pot farm that has children, and not even older teens, laboring in terrible circumstances.

Why are you upset about this raid? These are the people who should be raided if our immigration laws are to have any meaning at all.

Actually, he fell from a roof.

“this individual climbed up to the roof of a green house and fell 30 feet”

Sounds like he wasn't "killed" but that he died by falling off a roof while trying to evade ICE.
This is not ICE's fault at all. What was this man thinking?

Seems to me that ICE created a chaotic, uncontrolled situation, which DOES make it their fault.

Seems to me that this farm was hiring illegal aliens AND unaccompanied CHILDREN which is against the law.
Why are you so opposed to enforcing the law... especially when it comes to child labor laws?

Where did I say I was opposed to enforcing the law? I am opposed to enforcing the law in a lawless, uncontrolled, chaotic and destructive way, not opposed to enforcing the law.

Why are you opposed to having an honest conversation without spin, strawmen and deflections? Why are you opposed to accountability and expecting better from our law enforcement? DARVO, that's all you have?

How exactly are you proposing to enforce the law against a farm that illegally employed children without entering the farm?

So ICE is now enforcing local state law? California and most states allows 12 year old to work in agriculture. What does this have to do with ICE?

Many Republicans have repeatedly suggested that Medicaid recipients should be working on farms. 47.5% of Medicaid recipients are children. https://www.medicaid.gov/medicaid/program-information/medicaid-and-chip-enrollment-data/report-highlights

So it seems genuinely perplexing that you have such a huge problem with migrant children working on farms yet no problem whatsoever with disabled US born children working on farms.

Or do you actually not care about children working on farms, you are just concern-trolling and using this as a phony and disingenuous attack on Democrats?

If you ACTUALLY care about children you would't be supporting Republicans for their stance on Medicaid.

Maybe CA should follow Florida’s Republicans lead and try to make child labor legal.

Since when are Republicans opposed to exploiting child labor?

This is one of the unintended consequences for legalizing or semi-legalizing marijuana.

Well golly gee whiz. The part in this thread where the resident DCUM MAGAs tried to pretend they care about child labor and the wellbeing of children has suddenly exploded in a massive fireball followed by a spiraling crash into the ocean.

It's truly spectacular to behold.

Please, Republicans, just stop. Get your shit together and do better.

I’m not a Republican. And obviously I’m opposed to disabled children working on farms. I’m opposed to any child working on farms, except for children working on their own family farms in a limited capacity outside of school as I did as a child. But twelve-year-olds should not be picking cannabis on a farm regardless of political persuasion.

You can’t get out of what you are defending here. It’s not right. You are in the wrong here.

I’m a Democrat and I’m opposed to this too.

+1

I’m not a MAGA at all. I’m not even a republican.

But for the crazy ICE raid, he wouldn't have been running.
And if child labor had not been going on and illegal immigrants present then ICE would not have had to be there.

Trump is well on the way for his Peace Prize. Peace in America.

What a sick joke. The felon has made so much money on the backs of undocumented workers, throughout his career, and you think he deserves a medal. In addition to having his goons run after children, after they’ve already been exploited.

I can’t believe people suck this bad. Raise your standards lady.

I haven’t seen a single Democrat, not one, “defending the farm.”

Dems are mad that MAGA is terrorizing communities.

Dems are mad that MAGA is deporting much-needed farm workers, instead of giving them visas.

Dems are mad that a farmer would employ children and scapegoat undocumented workers, when it’s their own greed that created the problem.

Dems are mad that MAGA policy makes low-income children more vulnerable to working instead of being well-educated. If that’s children weren’t in hiding, they probably would have been at school. See gross DeSantis who wants children laborers as of 2025. Dems are APPALLED by this.
