Harvard no longer allowed to enroll international students

Does this mean more spots open up for Americans? This might be a good thing.

I don't think so. Just new students banned.

Thousands of students coming from across the globe to be educated in the US, spend tax dollars here, and then contribute to the US economy if they stay; or disseminate US value if they go home.

A true travesty.

Why not have American students take their spot, instead of having to go to Europe for college? Have you not seen all the top stats posts of kids not getting into T20 and going abroad? That's a true travesty as well.

Because your kid is not the best of the best. How many times do you need to be told that?

My kids are both at T20 (one Ivy and one not).
But thanks.

Still not good enough for Harvard, though.

Wasn't ever trying. Not our cup of tea.

hahahahahahahaha riiiighhhhttt

Do you know how many people early decision to the huge number of schools other than Harvard? I hate restarted people.

Restarted? Definitely believe that you're Harvard material now.

Dumb is subsidizing an elite school with a $50-60 billion endowment.

They must have rejected him, one of his kids. He’s all about revenge.

Yes, it does.

Not if they get aid.

It's May. Those accepted students have likely turned down offers from other universities. Trump is doing such damage to American academia. It will be hard to attract the best and the brightest if they have comparable offers from schools in countries without idiots as President.

Harvard field hockey team is largely international. Why? Why can’t more brilliant kids from Ohio or Kansas or NYC get in rather than these ladies? Seems ridiculous.

Harvard is a private school!!!!!!!! They can choose to educate whoever they want!!!!!

I read yesterday that their school of public health is 40% international students and it heavily relies on federal dollars. I don't think it's crazy that a research institution that's heavily funded by the U.S. government prioritizes US students and researchers. That being said, no internationals at all is overkill.

You're right. The admin made clear current students will have to transfer or lose their legal status. Very curious to see if even a single student will actually do so or not.

They seem pretty reliant on public money for a "private" school.
