Meeting the ex-wife before the kids

OP why in the world are you getting yourself enmeshed in this messy situation?? As others have pointed out, this is going to be an ongoing drama for YEARS. It’s quite likely DH has not been entirely honest with you about what actually happened in his marriage but even if he has been honest, do you really want to deal with a possibly unstable ex wife, whatever baggage kids are dealing with and a partner who has to manage that situation for decades to come?? Even if he is amazing, that is not worth signing up for unless you are a martyr or desperate.
