Oh you sweet summer child.

Plus a million. Can’t believe people
Are still trying to gaslight us on this.

Can't believe people think they can turn back the hands of time. The 1950s aren't coming back.

Very few heterosexual, Christian, White males are getting into Harvard or Ivy+ these days. The only ones are usually the athletes. Check out their class pages and you will get a better idea.

Since Americans are increasingly less religious, AND religion is not one of the metrics typically reported on a class page, I'm wondering what you are really saying here. Could it be that you are using "Christian" to mean "Not Jewish?"

If so, why so antiSemitic?

Not at all. 2025 IG pages make certain schools look 60% Asian.

Which schools look 60% Asian? You can look up the actual percentages of each college. Maybe certain cultures are more apt to post on the Instagram pages?

This isn’t true. Spouse works at a top 20, everything dei is being scrubbed in order to keep the research money flowing.

It's not just T20

Friend runs the education department at a school you probably never heard of and they used to be very CRT and now they are not.
I doubt they get very much research money but it turns out that all these private schools actually do get a lot of federal funding.
But it sounds like they intend to go back to being CRT in 4 years.

You don't even know what CRT is. Stop it.

According to a Trump Administration official who spoke about Harvard:
“[They] should assign Office of [sic] Civil Rights employees to the Harvard admissions office and direct the university to hold no admissions meeting without their physical presence,” Eden wrote. “The Office of Civil Rights should be copied on every email correspondence, and Harvard should be forced to provide a written rationale for every admissions decision to ensure nondiscrimination.”

It's not clear what his role is but it's safe to say there is pressure being exerted by the administration. Please, only comments on changes you think will occur - this is not an invite for trolls to hijack this thread!

Are you white? If so, why are you interested in this?

Whites have voted majority GOP ever since the Civil Rights act of 1964. Coincidence? No.

The OP is white and wants his average white kid to continue to benefit from historical and embedded admissions advantages.

It's always about race. It's American history.

Have a look at the Ivy+ school pages. Maybe other groups don't post as much. If you look at the stats on demographics last year, they were mostly there if you count international students from Asia.

I wish this happened last year.

The diversity essays are nothing sort of ridiculous. At 14 to 17 years of age, children do not have to come up with stuff they did to show how inclusive or diverse they are.

Thank you Trump!

Someone is in need of a cracker curb stomp.

Yeah, it’s almost like diversity doesn’t make us stronger.

Republicans think minorities can compete. Democrats think minorities are so helpless & hopeless that they need their patronizing party to pat minorities on the head & say “don’t worry about improving, we all know you can’t do it, but we will help you out.”

What color are you and why are you interested in separating people by race?

That's what Trump is doing.

Identity politics was created and nurtered by the left.

Actually it was Nixon his cronies who came up with the Southern Strategy to win over Southern whites. But good try, pappy!

You likely also believe that merit is solely defined by a test score. Your post above is a great example of inadequate intellect and your need to push for a narrow and inaccurate definition of merit to compensate for your intellectual deficiencies.

DP

In almost all of the rest of the world, merit is in fact mostly defined by a test score.

Is America right and the rest of the world wrong about this?

Considering the prestige of our universities, the incredible volume of useful research, the Nobel prize count, etc... YES.

Almost all from a time when merit was defined by a test score. How much of that research is from people who scored poorly on standardized tests?

The GOP is a party of white supremacists.
Fixed it for you.

The irony of Trumpsters wanting to get rid of DEI in college admissions is that truly doing that would mean that colleges would no longer be able to value the fact that applicants are from under-represented states or schools with fewer AP/honors offerings. If we truly had a meritocrasy, entire states would be shut of National Merit Scholars and the number of Asian students would rise at many competitive schools.

There are no american schools in the top 10 engineering schools globally.
There are no american schools in the top 10 computer science schools globally.

What makes american schools special is money and access to american job markets.
