Are topics like Diversity and Equity out this year?

According to a Trump Administration official who spoke about Harvard:
“[They] should assign Office of [sic] Civil Rights employees to the Harvard admissions office and direct the university to hold no admissions meeting without their physical presence,” Eden wrote. “The Office of Civil Rights should be copied on every email correspondence, and Harvard should be forced to provide a written rationale for every admissions decision to ensure nondiscrimination.”

It's not clear what his role is but it's safe to say there is pressure being exerted by the administration. Please, only comments on changes you think will occur - this is not an invite for trolls to hijack this thread!

I wish this happened last year.

The diversity essays are nothing sort of ridiculous. At 14 to 17 years of age, children do not have to come up with stuff they did to show how inclusive or diverse they are.

Thank you Trump!

You likely also believe that merit is solely defined by a test score. Your post above is a great example of inadequate intellect and your need to push for a narrow and inaccurate definition of merit to compensate for your intellectual deficiencies.

DP

In almost all of the rest of the world, merit is in fact mostly defined by a test score.

Is America right and the rest of the world wrong about this?

Are you white? If so, why are you interested in this?

DP

I am not white but why are only non-white people allowed to be interested in this?

Pro-URM discrimination necessarily discrimiantes against white people.
It's been going on for like 60 years.
When is it going to end if ever?

This isn’t true. Spouse works at a top 20, everything dei is being scrubbed in order to keep the research money flowing.

It's not just T20

Friend runs the education department at a school you probably never heard of and they used to be very CRT and now they are not.
I doubt they get very much research money but it turns out that all these private schools actually do get a lot of federal funding.
But it sounds like they intend to go back to being CRT in 4 years.

Nope, but it’ll just be repackaged under different words. And you guys will be too stupid to understand just like you’re too stupid to understand. DEI is just implementation of the civil rights act.

No, DEI is the application of the belief that certain groups are necessarily unable to compete, & need big daddy government to look out for them.

You like when Whitey McWhiterson is massa.

Test score is a better measure of merit than skin color.

Really? Then we get the white " I got into UVA with a 1320!" posts without an issue from anyone.

As long as anything is white centered on DCUM, it's all good, right?

I don't really like the athletic preferences either but they're not as bad as racial preferences.

You mad cause your low IQ kids can only get in without a test?

or are YOU mad because your 1540 kid got rejected from every ivy/ivy plus while TO kids streamed in over last several years - well, there was always Georgetown!

DP

If my 1540 kid got rejected everywhere while your test optional kid got in, I would be mad too. That seems reasonable.

Being mad that your test optional kid now has to take a test seems a lot less reasonable.

What color are you and why are you interested in separating people by race?

That's what Trump is doing.

Identity politics was created and nurtered by the left.

It's more the belief that any racial disparity in outcomes are the result of racism and biases so we should tweak results until we have equality of results.

In the education context, apparently in the education context, America is a deeply racist country that is intent on elevating asians, particularly asian immigrants above all others.

Perhaps so but it also appears to be the primary response by all the defenders of holistic admissions.
That america and only america knows how to select students using a nuanced and complex holistic review that almost nobody else in the world uses and would start riots in many other countries.

If the Xi JinPing was caught pressuring Tsinghua or Beijing University to accept his subpar son, that would hurt him politically more than a bad economy.

The first female president of Korea got impeached and removed in large part because she helped her friend's daughter get into the top women's college

Standardized tests are used because they are the best and most objective measure of merit. In fact Harvard used to use them before they decided they needed holistic admissions to keep out the jews.

Very few heterosexual, Christian, White males are getting into Harvard or Ivy+ these days. The only ones are usually the athletes. Check out their class pages and you will get a better idea.

Since Americans are increasingly less religious, AND religion is not one of the metrics typically reported on a class page, I'm wondering what you are really saying here. Could it be that you are using "Christian" to mean "Not Jewish?"

If so, why so antiSemitic?

Not at all. 2025 IG pages make certain schools look 60% Asian.

DEI is fine. Trump is against it to reinstall systematic white supremacy. The majority was quiet until the civil rights movement, and they are quiet now. Not surprised.

But...Peter Hegseth! He's doing great!

Sad.

Oh you sweet summer child.

I'm no more a sweet summer child than the conservative, heterosexual, Christian white men who think that winning the popular vote twice in the past thirty years means that they've beaten "woke".
