UNC or UVA out of state

Congratulations on having great choices. I'm a UVA grad and my son is at UNC. It indeed feels similar to UVA. You really can't go wrong with either one. I suggest making the decision based on finances, comfort, and if there's a strength in a particular field.

UNC has a wider range of students from in-state. UVA students are all driven. Campus is a constant buzz of busy bees going places. UNC has more laid-back vibe overall.

In North Carolina, UNC seems to have more presence than Duke. Duke students come from outside of North Carolina and then leave once they graduate.
