Trayon Going to be Re-elected

Tray is a good representative of Ward 8. He reflects the ward's culture and values. As corrupt and illiterate as he is, I would prefer him to Anita Bonds, who appears to be barely sentient and homeless.

Tray is, as you pointed out, corrupt and illiterate.

He is also an unapologetic antisemite.

They should install a local government setup by the federal government. These are failed societies

Its what we used to have when DC was a much nicer place. All it would take is to repeal the Home Rule charter and return to an appointed Mayor.

This is unquestionably the correct way to go.

End home rule.

DC was NOT a much nicer place back in 1995.

+1, the Control Board was a lot better. I was here. I remember it.

No, this is ridiculous. In a democracy, we don’t go whining and asking for someone else to step in and take away our elected leaders just because we don’t like the people our fellow citizens elected. You don’t like Trayon being back in office? You should have volunteered for a campaign of someone running against him or donated money.

Seriously — what are people talking about?

I was delighted to see Trayon re-elected bc it is more evidence that this city cannot be trusted to look after itself. And it increases the chance that home rule will be ended.

He’s talking about the control board when the reference was to an appointed Mayor which ended under LBJ.

Even so the Control Board saved us from the first attempt at Democracy. We’ll need another savior shortly.

Personally, I’m glad he’s back. He was the only one who voted against the “car jacking for all” bill. No, the problem with this city is every other member of the council and the here today gone tomorrow voters that keep them in power.

So keep people who won’t even live here in two years from voting or give us a real mayor to protect us from them.
