JD and Usha

Vance is obviously a racist.

Democrats, especially upper middle class ones who think we are “good people” merely due to our party affiliation, still don’t understand what has happened. Our party has imploded. Corporate America changed sides. The donor class changed sides. Now Trump is cutting off our ability to use taxpayer funds for ANY kind of political activism. We aren’t going to win again for decades.

It would be easier to take this seriously if you could point to a constituency that actually voices positive opinions about Vance. Likability matters.

Usha Vance profited from parents who raised her well, working hard throughout her academic life and creating a strong career. It is weak white women who couldn’t compete with her who profited from DEI. How else could they have gotten into law school so that they could snag a high earner and become a SAHM.

Sure. But she's the one who laid down with the dogs and now is upset at having all the fleas.

+1 She said to "listen to him" when he made the comment about Haitians eating pets. No, I don't think she's decent.

Nobody decent would stand by that "man".

A man is a male person. There are good ones and bad ones. There’s no need to use quotations.

You need to have a spine to be a man.

Stop perpetuating patriarchal myths. Vance is a cowardly crappy man. They exist.

Stop insulting good men. Vance is a spineless, soggybottomed manbaby, not a man.

This. This is exactly why both of them ain't sh*t and never will be.

How can you trust someone who can be flipped whichever way the wind blows?

I'm an Usha fan so far. I have been reading a lot about her.

I could see her fooled by Vance but yeah Mel knew what she was getting with dumpy

She was getting a chance at money. Since she had no college education, was in a foreign country and working as (ahem) a "model," she did not have many options...

JD on the other hand is a d-bag with zero principles or allegiance to any causes. He saw through Trump and knew he would be bad for the country.

During Trump’s first election Vance said these things and many more:

“I cannot stand Trump because I think he’s a fraud…I think he’s a total fraud that is exploiting these people…. I don’t think he actually cares about folks.”

: “Trump makes people I care about afraid. Immigrants, Muslims, etc. Because of this I find him reprehensible. God wants better of us.”

These comments are spot on. 100% accurate based on Trump’s over 60 years of being in the public eye.

Trump didn’t find God and change into someone who cares about folks, he didn’t stop exploiting people, people are even more afraid now that he’s ignoring the courts.

Do people think Vance has a chance at the presidency?

For the love of god, people. Please stop excusing this woman. Or Rubio. Or others tied to this administration.

She stood by her husband after he lied about Haitians eating pets. That’s sickening. On top of everything else this admin is doing.

She’s evil. She deserves to be booed everywhere. Period. The end.

Yes. I'm tired of women getting a pass. She fully supports her husband. She edits his speeches, and she attends his events. She will learn a hard lesson when she finds out the white supremacists do not consider her white.

Nobody whose values are so malleable should be trusted to do anything serious, let alone important. The only reason they got as high up as they have is that MAGA bought Trump's grift and the vances kissed enough backside to ride coattails. Neither of these people on their own have what it takes to run successfully.

And he'll be way to drunk in 3ish years to run anything but his mouth.

Vance only got anywhere because he is a Peter Thiel boy. Peter paid for JD's congressional seat. JD hasn't had much work experience outside of whatever he did for Peter.

Yes, per an executive order from so-called "man" Donald Trump, there are now only men and women, so anyone male is a "man". But I refuse to pollute the meaning of the word that way. A man holds his own, does what's right, wouldn't throw away his integrity for some mess...

JD Vance is a "man" but not a man.

JD is a woman to me as is Trump. If they say people can't choose their gender, I'll choose the gender for JD and Don and misgender them.

How do we know JD is male? JD may dress like a man but according to the GOP, we would need to inspect genitals to confirm if JD is actually a biological male. Until JD drops trou and lets the people complete a close inspection, we can refer to JD as Ms or Mr, depending on how observer interprets sex. IMO, the eyeliner suggests JD is a lady.

Actually, Vance definitely benefitted from DEI.

DEI (TM) wasn’t invented until 2020, years after Vance got into Yale.

Not all programs that expand access to underrepresented groups are DEI (TM) and DEI (TM) did not reach all underrepresented groups. In particular, DEI (TM) favored a worldview where privilege was measured by skin color, gender, and status as a sexual minority and almost completely ignored the actual current driver of inequality in our society which is money, class, and what kind of family you were born into.

(I put the TMs to mean Trademark, because so many people on this board do not understand the difference between the program invented in 2020 vs. actual diversity, equity, and inclusion. Sorry if it’s lame.)

LOL, you're lame. These programs were not invented in 2020, there was simply a deepening of the commitment by institutions to these values in the wake of George Floyd's death. There isn't some "before" time and "after" time in this work.

blather blather blather.

We’re in the after times now. Future Dem candidates won’t be able to campaign on continuing the status quo of affirmative action. They’ll have to either let it go, or campaign on reinstating it. It’s an uphill battle. It’s unpopular.

I don't know. After the "white man" constituency showed their true colors, every other gender and race is horrifically appalled.

After Biden and Trump, the diverse range of Americans might finally come together and give the white men the Great Replacement they've been crying about.

100% here for this. White men in politics are a problem, and they need to sit the next few out so we can get our country back. Let's make this place actually great for once!

Totally agree. She’s obviously well-educated and has a brain that works - there’s absolutely no indication that she’s anything less than completely on board with everything that is happening. Give the woman some credit - she has agency and free will, and she is where she has decided to be.
