That’s not true at all. It’s high school specific. My kid has a 4.0 UW, has taken every available AP/DE at his school but one and has a 4.3. Not all schools weight the same and some have limited AP options. |
Exactly. To illustrate this further, if they have 56,000 applicants and 7,000 spots and an overall yield of 25% (totally making that number up), they need to accept 4 times the number of spots or 28,000 to fill the class. They always give the total number of applicants vs class size because it makes the school look super competitive, but it’s all about the yield. |

4.0 UW 11 Aps 1460 SAT Neuroscience Honors College We didn't fill out the FAFSA b/c we are full pay. Do they only offer merit if you fill it out. Is it too late? We didn't want to fill it out w/o knowing the decision. This isn't DC's top choice right now, but it's a maybe option. |
Not sure. The award came tonight as well. We are OOS (different poster) and DC was only offered $3k a year. |
Forgot to mention that we did fill out FAFSA. |
But many, many more than 7500 got accepted. |

Admitted to engineering, 12 APs, 3.99/4.5, FCPS.

Congrats, PP! I have a very happy English major at VT. |

Tuition rates were already set before the new administration. However, I would not be surprised to see bigger increases in future years because of the federal funding reductions. So if stretching for the first year, it's only going to get harder. |
If you are in state, you’re not getting merit. |
