VT acceptance/deferral/rejection thread 2025

Were there any deferrals or rejections? Everyone is know was accepted or wait listed.

NP. Just because there may be a lot of acceptances with much lower stats does not mean there aren't waitlists and deferrals with much higher stats.

(There's a name for that. Supposedly VT doesn't do that thing, but some aspect of their algorithm does, in fact, do that.)

Yep. I think VT is unpredictable sometimes. Last year ours was waitlisted with 4.0/4.58 1580 FCPS in-state.

Probably will go elsewhere - in at higher ranked businesss schools but may accept waitlist and see what happens- would love to get in state tuition one of these days! All my kids attend OOS

NJ OOS, good public school, waitlisted, engineering. 4.2 UW, not sure unweighted but probably 3.8 or 3.9, had one B the rest all As and 2 A-. AP physics C, cal BC, AP physics 1, comp sci principles and Comp sci A, AP psych. 1440 Sat.

My daughter was waitlisted and several of her friends were waitlisted.

It seems like they have a huge waitlist this year. Seems cruel to lead kids on when there is really no chance they will get anywhere close to this long of a waitlist.
